OOTD - Kimono Trend.

I don't know about you but I've been LOVING the Kimono trend lately. It's just such an easy outfit. You can put together almost any kind of look and throw a kimono on top for a little bit of an edgy vibe.

For me they also work wonders because I'm a very big fan of shorts and skirts (I just hate wearing pants) so when you feel like they are on the very short side kimonos can help you avoid the "not so chic butt showing look" if they are long enough. This one that I have is not so long and I got it mostly for the print and the price. It's so colorful and it caught my eye as soon as I walked into Forever21.

This outfit I wore for lunch last week so it's pretty casual. When it's hot outside I just can't be bothered with too many layers and accessories. We ended up eating way too much on Outback Steakhouse and taking the pictures in the parking lot like always.

Kimono - Forever21.
Black Tank - Express.
Lace Shorts - H&M.
Yellow Bag - Mango.
Watch - Guess.
Rings and Bracelets - Primark.

Are you also loving the Kimono Trend ? Did you like the outfit ?

Leave me your comments, suggestions and requests. I love reading them !

Thanks so much for reading.

August Favorites.

I never did a Favorites Post before, but I see them all the time in different blogs and I decided to do it myself. This month was all about rediscovering a couple of things in my closet and in my makeup stash. So if you want to check what I've been loving just keep reading..

Michael Kors "Jet Set" Crossbody Bag

This is a complete rediscovered love ! I've had this bag for years and had maybe worn it a couple of times. But last weekend as I was packing for our weekend getaway I found it on the back of my closet so I decided to take it with me. And I had forgotten how much I love it ! It's so versatile and practical. You can take it everywhere with you and avoid the problems of taking your entire makeup draw in your bag (everybody does it !). It only has room for the essentials. I recently styled it in a previous post if you want to check it out.

Want it ? Get it here or here

MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo

I can honestly say that this is my favorite lipstick. Summer, Spring, Winter or Fall I always menage to incorporate it on my makeup routine. It's the perfect red color for me and it lasts forever on the lips, you can kiss, eat or drink and the lipstick is not going anywhere. Love this formula ! If you want to read more about it click here.

Want it ? Get it here or here.

Bioderma

I have to admit that when I bought it I didn't really know how to use it. But as you start to try it out more you get the hang of it and find out how it works best for you. In my case, I use it as a makeup remover and let me tell you it takes of everything. I don't even feel the need to go wash my face after and for a lazy girl like me that's always a plus. I just put a little on a cotton pad or a baby wipe and rub in gently on the face and eyes. I know it's a little bit expensive but I think it's worth it!

Cetaphil

In this weird weather we've been having here in Rio de Janeiro my skin has been all over the place. Sometimes dry, sometimes oily with dry patches, crazy crazy.. But one thing that always saves me in Cetaphil. In my opinion the best moisturizer in the world. You may think it's only for the body, because of the packaging, but for me it works wonders on the face. All in all is a heavy duty moisturizer for all skin types. Can't recommend it enough !

I am Malala

This book got me crying from the introduction. But don't get me wrong it's a beautiful and inspiring story. I haven't finished yet but I can already tell that I'm gonna love it. It gets you thinking on how much we take things for granted and how much we need to be grateful for everything we have. It's a must read !

Want it ? Get it here

My favorites end here for today. I tried to mention only the things that I've been really loving this month and since I've been doing a lot of sightseeing the past few weeks I've been keeping the makeup to a minimum and sticking with my staples for skin care. If you would like a post about that please let me know and I'll be happy to do it.

I hope your having an incredible day !

See you on the next one.

Putting Social Media To The Test.

Everybody says that social media is the blogger's best friend. So today I decided to put it to a test and I created a new Facebook Page for the blog as well as a Twitter Account

It's my first time on Twitter (I know I'm weird..) so I might need your help with this one. Before you think something is wrong with me, let me just say that I never saw the point of having a Twitter before. Everything it does I could just do it on Facebook.

But now with the blog I think it's gonna be a great way to connect with you guys and stay more updated in the blogging world.

So if you have a Twitter (I mean.. who doesn't, right ?) just follow me so I can follow you back and we can become (hopefully) friends. And also, if you want to keep up with the blog via Facebook I'm also there with a brand new page that you can "like" if you feel like being an awesome person and supporting the blog.

Thanks so much for everyone who has been leaving kind comments and supporting the blog. It really means a lot to me. Every time that you start something different is good to know that there's people out there who support you and who also enjoy what you're doing.

If you have a Twitter, a Facebook page, an Instagram, a Tumblr (is that how you write this thing ?) or a Website please let me know so we can support each other.

See you guys on the next one !

Blogs I'm Loving.

In my opinion the blogging atmosphere is all about sharing the love. Other bloggers are gonna be your first readers and will (hopefully) spread it around if they like what they read. At least in my case it was (and still is) like that.

So in honor to that and to all the amazing people that I have met in my not so long period of blogging (6 months) I decided to also share the love and to promote a couple of blogs that I've been loving recently.

Have you checked out these blogs ? Did you like them ? Have you discovered any great blogs recently ?

If so leave a comment to let me know. I love discovering new blogs and hearing from you guys !

I'm thinking about doing this every month or so. Depends on my discovering new blogs ability. If you want to have your blog or website featured on the next post just let me know so I can check it out.

I hope you guys liked this new kind of post.

See you on the next one.

OOTD - Weekend Getaway !

As I said on the previous post, me and Sebastian took the friday off and had a long weekend at the beach. We went to a city very close to Rio de Janeiro called Buzios and we had an amazing time.

The Hotel was AMAZING and 2 min away from the beach. We enjoyed some good food and a much needed relaxing time. I could finally start to read I am Malala, such a great book of an amazing and inspiring young woman (I haven't finished yet but I already highly recommend it !). The pictures were taken on the balcony as we were leaving for dinner so sorry for the bad lighting !

But now let's get to the outfit !

Since we stayed the entire day at the beach I only dressed up for dinner. It was a bit chilly at night so I decided to go for my well worn Denim Shirt and I paired it with these white shorts for a more put together look. The Havaiannas were a must since the streets are majorly made of stone so heals are not an option.

Denim Shirt - Forever21 (also featured here).
White Shorts - Zara
Bag - Michael Kors
Sandals - Havaianas
Sunglasses - Vogue

Close up of the glasses.

What did you think ?
Leave me your comments and suggestions below. I love hearing from you !

Thanks so much for reading !

The Secrets of Blogging TAG.

I was kind of tagged by the lovely Shireen from Reflection of Sanity (she's great and you should definitely check her blog out) to do this tag. I think that if you've been a reader for a while you know that I love doing TAG posts (case in point here, here, here, here and here).

Enough with the rambling and let's get to the questions !

1. When did you start blogging and why ?

I started blogging in March of 2014. Blogging was something that I've always wanted to do and I don't know why it took me so long to begin. Actually I know, I was kind of scared about what people would think, if anyone would read it and bla bla bla.. Now that I've been doing it for a while all these doubts seem so stupid and I realize how much time I've wasted.

2. How many people in real life know about your blog ?

Not a lot. My boyfriend and a couple of my friends. It's not that I'm ashamed of my blog, I'm actually very proud of my posts. It's just not something that comes up on a regular conversation. I'm not gonna be like: Hi I'm Michele and I have a blog.

But I feel like someone would be interested on checking it out of course I'd mention it.

3. What are your favorite posts to read ?

Empties! Even if their are not mine they still give me a sense of accomplishment (I'm weird I know..) And also think the reviews on empties posts are more reliable because the person already finished the product.

4. List a blog you've recently discovered ?

5. What post are you most proud of ?

As I said I'm pretty satisfied with all my posts. But if I had to pick one I'd say : Why Traveling Makes You A Better Person. And if I had to pick two I'd include : 21 Things every 21 Year-Old Should Know.

6. What advice would you give to future bloggers ?

DO IT ! If you keep thinking about what other people will think you're not gonna do anything different. If feel like you have something to share with the world, connect with different people that are into the same things as you blogging is a great way to start.
But if you're looking for quick fame and fortune (a reality show would be the best choice).. I've got bad news. You might even become famous with you're blog, but it's gonna take a lot of time, dedication, patience and creativity.

I hope you guys enjoyed this quick post. We just arrived from a weekend getaway so everything is a mess and to top things of my computer decided not to work today and we're still trying to figure out why.

I tag everybody who feels like doing it ! If you do it please let me know so I can go check it out.

As always leave me your thoughts, opinions, hopes and dreams in the comments. I love reading them.

Thanks so much for reading !

Botanic Garden OOTD.

As I said a couple of times before my boyfriend is currently here visiting me (if you're new here you should read this). It's his first time in Rio de Janeiro so we're doing a lot, A LOT, of touristic stuff.

This week we went to the Botanic Garden and I thought I'd do an OOTD post because the place is so beautiful. It was a little chilly and cloudy so I decided to go for boots and a leather jacket in case it rained (thank God it didn't - my hair looks like a hot mess with rain !) and the leggings because I just like the way it looks with the boots. Like I'm about to ride a horse or something.

I just threw in the flannel because I got it 8 months ago and haven't worn it yet and was pretty satisfied with the look. I also kept the accessories to a minimum because we were doing a lot of walking and sometimes it just pisses me off wearing too much jewelry.

Jacket - H&M ( Got it on sale for 20 euros !)
Flannel - H&M
White Tank - Forever21
Boots - Zara (Also featured here)
Backpack - JanSport

An awkward picture to finish.

What did you guys think ? It's my first time rocking the flannel trend so I could really use some feedback !

As always, thanks so much for stopping by !

See you on the next one.

Blogging Playlist !

I think that every blogger has their own writing rituals. Some may drink some tea or wine (guilty !), get some cookies (also guilty !)or put on some music like me.

Music helps me relax, inspires me and just puts me in the mood to write.

So if you're stuck in a rut with your music and hates everything on your iPod lately, I'm here to rescue you. Let me just say that some are old and some are new and the majority is calm and relaxing, nothing of house music here.

Let me introduce you to good music.

Lucy Hale

Who knew that Aria could sing, right ? If you guys didn't know the actress from Pretty Little Liars recently released a new album and it's pretty good. I have to say that I don't like all the songs but the ones that I picked I really loved.

Gabrielle Aplin

Home

Leighton Meester

You may have discovered that Miss Meester could sing after watching Country Song (if you haven't watched it yet, what are you waiting for ?) like me. After that movie I did a Youtube researched and discovered this cover from her and absolutely feel in love.

Dreams (with Dana Williams)

Give In To Me (with Garrett Hedlund)

Alex and Sierra

Loved them since day one of X-Factor and cried when they won. This new song of them is just amazing.

Phillip Phillips

HIS VOICE ! That's all I have to say.. He could be singing What Does The Fox Say and I would still love it.
Unpack Your Heart

Home

Gone

Trevor Hall

Do you guys like my picks ? What other songs do you listen to while writing ? Have you ever heard any of these ones ?

I always get bored of listening all the time the same songs so please leave me some of your picks on the comments.

Thanks so much for reading !

See you on the next one.

OOTD Post - College Edition !

Since a I got such a great response from you guys on my previous OOTD post (a huge thank you to everyone who commented, you are awesome !) I decided to do a new one. Just like the last, this outfit is pretty simple. We took the pictures at the parking lot of my building as we were arriving from class.

When I'm going to class I like to keep things simple because at my University hardly anyone dresses nicely, people go for the "I woke up like this" look and also because I need to be comfortable and jeans feel as comfortable as an armor.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not model or an experienced blogger so excuse my lack of cool poses.

Sunglasses: Forever21 (Yes, I buy cheap sunglasses !)
Denim Shirt: Forever21
Pants: Forever21
Flats: Local Boutique
Bag: Mango
Watch: DKNY
Bracelette: Local Boutique

I hope you guys liked it ! As always leave me your thoughts, opinions and suggestions in the comments. They are always very welcomed !

Thanks for stopping by today and an especial thanks to my amazing boyfriend for taking the pictures.

See you on the next one !

Series We Are Loving.

I don't know if you knew this about us but we are an old couple. Maybe it's the winter and we just get so lazy to get out of the house. But a crazy Friday night for us consists on cooking dinner (we love to cook), having some wine, getting comfy on the couch and watching something on the TV. And most of the times we watch a couple of chapters of a series because picking a movie usually takes more time than watching it.

So maybe if you just finished a good series and you're in the limbo searching for a new one or if you just like finding out some series to get yourself completely addicted. I got you covered.

I'm gonna divide them in 3 categories: my picks, his picks and our picks.

These are the ones that I watch alone. They are my guilty pleasure. After staying the entire day at the University and studying I just want to take a shower, eat and watch a couple of chapters of a series.

I don't think I need to write anything about this one. I've mentioned it so many times here in the blog, but what can I do ? I love it ! I love the fashion and the whole mystery of A and everything.

My favorite one is Aria (Lucy Hale) mostly because of her clothes 'cause I hate her whole drama with Mr. Fitz. So what's your favorite ? Any theories about A ?

Am I the only one who missed Lilly from Hannah Montana ? So for all you who share the same feeling as me here she is again with a brand new series.

It's one of those which you don't need to watch the episodes on a sequence to understand it. It's about a girl who applies to be the personal chef of a young and rich techy guy.

In my opinion it's pretty funny and easy to watch (like when you don't feel like thinking and you just want to be entertained).

This one got me completely by surprise. I was not expecting to like it. The best way to describe is: typical high school teenage drama. The girl likes a boy and then he doesn't like her, and then he likes her, and then she dates another, breaks up with him and then her friend starts dating the previous.

Confusion awesomeness that will get you hooked and desperate to know what happens next.

"Faking it" is the new Akward for me. I started watching while I was waiting for the new season to be released and I ended up liking it even more.

Just like the other ones (I'm starting to see a pattern on my series) it's filled with high school drama but it's more focused on the whole gay situation/coming out on that young age with a lot of comedy. It's soooo funny.

I tried to explain the whole story to my boyfriend when I started to watch but it's very complicated. So I'm just gonna say watch the first chapter, if you liked it you're gonna enjoy the whole series.

Am I the only one who also misses The New Adventures of Old Christine ? Well, you can stop crying because Julia Louis came back to us, funnier than ever. I would say this one is not everyone's taste but in my opinion it's hilarious.

Julia is the vice president of the United States and the series is about her pursue to become president and the everyday life of politics in Washington.

I love it ! I don't care what that woman is doing, I'm watching.

I decided to include Sebastian's picks just to spice it up a bit because I'm pretty sure not everybody will like my absolutely girly picks. So if you're looking for a little more action and a little less high school drama just keep reading.

This one is about a guy (half politician half gangster) during the Prohibition who starts a illegal business of alcohol.
It's a mix between action with some comedy and mystery. According to Sebastian if you are a Sopranos fan you're gonna like boardwalk empire too.

I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, especially to my young readers. It has a lot violence and sex, just like Game of Thrones.

The principal character is Spartacus who betrays a roman commander. In revenge this commander kidnaps him and his wife. After that the commander puts Spartacus to die in the arena but another guy gets impressed by his abilities and buys him as a gladiator.

It's not my cup of tea but if you're into those things..

I don't know why but I was very resistant to start watching this one. Probably because the name is to catchy and it doesn't sound like something I would enjoy. Even after Sebastian had already watched a couple of chapters and told that it was really good.

So after a while I went for it and really enjoyed it. It's a couple of chapters for the things to start to heat up. But after that it just gets sooo addicting.

Let me just to give you a brief overview so you know what you are getting into. It's about a guy named Walter who looks a little bored with his ordinary life and then he founds out that he has cancer. Knowing about the cancer changes completely his way of living and he starts to cook meth with a former student of him.

I know it's pretty weird but give it a try !

"When you came in the air went out.." - If you also love this song comment below so we can be best friends.

True Blood is just awesome. Is about a futuristic world where the Japanese invented some sort of synthetic blood that can feed the vampires. This away they stop being a threat to the humans and can come out of the shadows and live among them.

You might be thinking.. vampires again ? And to that I respond: YES ! And not only vampires but fairies, werewolves, shifters and all those amazing supernatural things.

Which series you've been watching ? Do you like any of the ones that I mentioned today ?

We are TV people so we really look forward to reading your answers.

See you on the next one !
