7 Useful Links For Bloggers.

Today's post is going to be all about making your life as blogger easier. Before I started blogging I thought this was going to be way easier than it actually is.. I mean it's not rocket science but it definitely isn't as easy as I thought. It takes a lot of time and work to put a post up.. you need to come up with the idea, edit, choose some pictures and all that jazz.

And if you're doing all the designing and coding by yourself (like moi) it adds a little extra stress. I know you can easily get a very cute and amazing template for around $15 (maybe even cheaper) but maybe you don't have the extra cash right now or you just feel like doing everything by yourself. In my case I see blogging as a hobby so I enjoy doing everything by myself.. this blog is like my little baby (is that weird ?).

So, since I'm not a professional designer and I know close to nothing about HTML coding and everything I decided to share with you guys my homework. Everything that I know and implemented here on Let Me Cross Over I learned from professor Google who helped me find AMAZING blogs, websites and videos with the information.

Keep in mind that most of these tricks that I'm sharing here today are specifically designed for Blogger so if you use Wordpress I'm really sorry you won't benefit as much from this post.

I know I've mentioned it already on a previous post but for any of you who missed it putting that little gadget at the end of each post is not as hard as you might be thinking.

You just have to go on the website and follow the instructions.. it's pretty self explanatory and you'll get it done in no time.

This girl is AMAZING. She shares blogging tips all the time and a lot of the things I changed on the blog I learned there. Like centering your post title and date header.

Maybe if you're smarted than me you can it for yourself but I had absolutely no idea where the hell I had to put the coding that they give you. If you never tried it before you have no idea what I'm talking about. But when you go on Facebook to generate the gadget for you they simply give you a code and nowhere to put and this video tells you exactly what to do.

This blog will help you with pretty much everything related to blogger. The write is constantly adding new tutorials of HTML and other simple things like adding in Instagram widget on your blog.

| VigLink |

How many of you guys tried the Adsense program ? I know.. I know.. It's a love and hate relationship. So I here present you another way to monetize your blog. I've never used it but I've read a lot of review about it and everybody was saying great things. You should definitely on the website and check it out to see it's for you or not.

But if you're really interested in the program don't forget to read ALL the Terms and Conditions, I know a lot of people ignore them but most of the times when you're monetizing your blog you're signing an agreement so you need to see if you're really comfortable with all their conditions.

This is another blog/website who shares blogging tips. So if you didn't find what you were looking for in the other sites this one might help. And they also have some tutorials for wordpress.

This blog has the best tutorials (for the wordpress bloggers too). It teaches you how to do so many cool things on your blog so check it out when you have a free afternoon or something because you're gonna want to try everything on your blog.

These are the sources of information I'm sharing today. I hope they help with some things you want to change on your blog and just it more you. If you know any other websites to help the bloggers about there please share the love on the comments.

Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you on the next one.

September 29, 2014

I've already seen this TAG on a couple of blogs and also a couple of times on Youtube so I decided to give this a go since today it's a super busy day for me. I just got home from school, need to run to the supermarket because there's nothing in the house, I have french course at night and I still need to finish a HUGE project for tomorrow.

But I still wanted to have something here because I miss blogging and if I could I'd do it everyday. And also the questions are related to beauty and it's been a long time since I've done anything beauty related here on the blog.

I'm gonna stop rambling now and we're gonna get to the TAG.

Blush or Bronzer ?

Bronzer. I think bronzer is more versatile. You can contour, bring some color to your face or make a lighter foundation work with your skin tone. My favorite bronzer is MAC's Mineralize Skin Finish in Sun Power.

Lip gloss or Lipstick?

Lipstick for sure. Me and lip gloss don't have a very good relationship. Most of the ones that I've tried are always so stick and don't give away much color so I always go for the lipstick. Specially Ruby Woo by MAC.

Chapstick or Lip Butter?

Lip Butter, the more moisturizing the better.

Matte or Sparkle eyeshadows?

Matte all the way. When I wear sparkling eye shadow I just feel like Barbie. I know it's a little ridiculous but I feel more comfortable with matte.

Gel, liquid, cream or pencil liner?

Pencil liner. Ain't nobody got time for all those other liners. They are just so hard to menage and I'm no where near being a makeup artist. And also I always go for the smokey look and the pencil makes it easier to achieve it.

Foundation or Concealer?

If I had to pick one (which is the purpose of this TAG) I would pick foundation. I think it's more useful because you can hide everything you want with it and also because I have some major discoloration on my face so I like to even everything out.

Liquid or Powder foundation?

Powder. It's easier to wear and I don't go anywhere without my MAC's Studio Fix.

Neutral or statement eye?

Statement eye. To be honest I don't wear makeup everyday.. let alone eye shadow. So when I go out with the makeup I always think that I might as well go all the way and rock my smokey eye.

Pressed or loose shadows?

Pressed. Is there anyone out there who prefers loose shadows ? That thing just go any where and it's such a hassle that it's making me tired just thinking about it.

Waterproof or non-waterproof?

Non-waterproff. When someone invents something that takes off waterproof mascara I will use it.

Brushes, sponges or fingers?

Brushes. Every time I use my fingers to do my makeup I ALWAYS get some concealer or foundation on my clothes. And about the spongers.. I've never used them but I really gonna try the famous Beauty Blender, if any of you have tried please let me know if it's worth the money.

Powder, cream or liquid highlighters?

I think that when it comes to highlighters the liquid ones make it seem more natural on the skin so I go with liquid.

So that's it for TAG. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I won't tag anyone in particular. The only thing I'll ask is that if you do it on your blog please let me know so I can go check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping and I'll hope you'll come back soon ! :)

Nails Of The Month.

Today I decided to share with you guys the nail polishes I wore this month. I thought it was better to get them all together in one post than doing separate posts for each. I usually change my nail polish every week because  I'm lazy, I don't have time to change it every 2-3 days and also they pretty much last 5 days on my nails when I use a top coat.

The top coat that I use is not fancy at all. I know a lot of bloggers and youtubers love the Seche Vite one but it's just too expensive for my budget so I usually go for the Avon one and I love it.

I also do my nails at home. I just think it's more practical and cheaper. I can't stand the thought of paying some one 20 dollars (more or less the price here where I live) to do my nails when a bottle of nail polish is 2 or 3 dollars (here in Rio nail polish is really cheap).

If you still go to a salon to get your nails done I highly suggest you taking your time and learning how to do it yourself. When it comes to nails practice makes perfect and you just need to be patient.

The first one that I use was this beautiful dark blue from Kiko. Their nail polishes don't have names, just numbers, and this one is the 838. I already talked about it in a previous post where I reviewed a couple of products that I have from this brand and I need to say that I'm very please with this one.

I love color, the formula and how much it lasts on the nails. It lasted more or less 5 days without chipping which I think it's pretty good.

This one is also from Kiko and it's this kind of light brown/mustard color (370). I also reviewed this one on that previous post so I don't have a lot to say about it. It has the same formula than the last one which I completely adore. I love this color and I think it looks really pretty specially with my skin tone.

This read shade is my all time favorite color. It's from Revlon and it's called Frankly Scarlet. I got it a couple of years ago at Ross in a set of 5 different shades for just 7 dollars and it's been my favorite since then.

I don't think you can see in the pictures but it's a very read color with some very fine golden glitters. I use this one at least once a month and it's not even close to the end.

Which nail polish are you loving lately ? Which color are you wearing now ? Did you like the ones I wore this week ? Do you have any recommendations ?

Please leave your answers in the comments. I'm always looking for different shares, specially if you have a really beautiful red color to recommend.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you'll come back soon !

OOTD: Dinner Date.

Last weekend I went on a dinner date with a very special someone, my lovely sister. She just got the pictures from her wedding so we decided to go out for dinner to celebrate (we celebrate almost everything in this family) and to see the pictures together. Even though it's been almost two months I still cannot believe she's marriedThe pictures we all amazing and if you want to seem them I just posted a couple on Facebook.
We ended up going to P.F. Chang's. They just opened their first restaurant here in Brazil so we were very excited to check if the food was just as good as we remembered. And it really was AMAZING. I'm loving that now all those big US restaurants are coming to Rio and I read somewhere that the next one is The Cheesecake Factory which is my family's favorite restaurant and every time we travel we end up going there 100 times.

Although here in Brazil is now the end of Winter it was quite sunny and just a little bit cold. I don't know what's wrong with me but during the weekend I cannot bring myself to wear pants, I feel like I already use them a lot on week days so my legs need some air on the weekends. So I decided to pair this dress with a leather jacket in case it could colder at night and also because I love how this burgundy color looks with the green in the dress. Very fall appropriate for you guys going into fall.

Dress: Fover21.
Jacket: H&M. (also featured here)
Necklace: Bershka.
Rings: Forever21.
Sunglasses: Kate Spade.
Bag: Mango. (also featured here)

Did you like it ? Would you wear it ? Which pieces have you been
loving to wear lately ?

Please leave your feedback in the comments. I really appreciate it and I love hearing from you.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you'll come back soon.

Low Cost Airlines.

I think most of you will agree with me that the most expensive and stressing part of planning a trip are the air tickets. Not so much for you lucky people who live in Europe where all the countries are close to each other.. But since I live in South America every trip that I make I end up spending around US$ 800-900 dollars just for the tickets.

So I've been doing some research on how to get the cheapest air tickets since I'm planning on traveling at the end of the year to Spain (SUPER exciting !) and I thought it would be helpful to share here on the blog since everybody seems to be enjoying the recent traveling post I've done.

Most of the companies I'm gonna mention are "low cost" so don't expect free snacks or complementary headphones. And also the chairs are super close together and not very comfortable. At the the end of the day you need to choose between comfort or a cheap ticket and for me it works. I prefer doing more traveling and being uncomfortable than doing less traveling in the first class.

When I was leaving in France EasyJet was my best friend and if you're traveling trough Europe it's going to be your best friend too. I got so many good deals with these companies.. I was able to fly to London just for 80 euros and to Rome just for 55 euros. Yeah.. It's that cheap !

I don't really have anything bad to say about them only that the seats are too close which is a little uncomfortable and you're only allowed one hand luggage, if you have a handbag it has to go on your suitcase while you're boarding the plane. But other than that I had a very good experience.

Boarding was always super fast and once I got to the airport a little earlier and they were kind enough to put me on an earlier flight. Another time my flight was delayed and they gave us all free food and drinks which is a little extra something that I was not expecting from a "low cost company".

Also they always have special deals going on so if you don't have planned destination you can just pick the cheapest and go.

Ryanair works pretty much the same was as EasyJet. I only traveled with them once and I think it was from Rome to London. I din't have any problems and the plain looked brand new which is always a plus.

I think they have the same rules as the company before when it comes to luggage (their policy might have changed, I'm not very sure.) and they were very strict about it. If you're bags don't fit in their little metal thing you're gonna have to pay for it, but if you follow the rules you're not gonna have any problems.

Their plains are soooo cute..

I've never flown with WOW air but I read some reviews online and they're overall pretty good. They make the connection between the main cities in Europe and Reykjavik in Iceland.

It might not be very useful to some of you because I know that not everybody
wants to go to Iceland but I would go, why not ? I browsed the site a little bit and the prices vary from 100 to 150 euros, which in my opinion is pretty good for a flight that long.

As you can probably guess by the name this is not an airline. It's actually a bus company that works in USA, Canada and Europe. I wanted to mention it because the prices are unbelievably cheap and I've heard good thing about it.

I've never travel with them myself but I have some friends who have and they told me that it's pretty good for the price and you don't have to go trough all the hassle of airport security and bla bla bla..

By what I've been told I wouldn't recommend it for the solo travelers out there because bus traveling doesn't sound very safe to me in general but if you're in  a group I don't see why not.

Those are the airlines that I've decided to mention today. I know there are a lot of low cost companies out there but I wanted to bring to you only the ones that I've used or that I was recommend by people who did.

Have you ever flown "low cost" ? Would you fly "low cost" ?
Do you know any of these airlines ? Did I miss any ?

As always leave me your comments, suggestions and answers. I really appreciate it and any help in this department will be very much welcomed.

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you'll come back soon !

5 Links I'm Loving At The Moment.

I saw this post on Cupcakes and Cashmere (my favorite blog of all times) and I thought it was such a great idea. These past few weeks I've come across so many helpful websites not only for blogging, but for life in general and I thought it you guys might like it too.

I've already done a couple of weeks ago a post where I listed some of my favorite blogs at the moment so in this one I'm gonna list strictly websites or videos and I'll probably do another one with new blogs I've discovered next week.

So let's stop with the rambling and on with the links !

It seems like everybody is talking about this speech and if you haven't watched it yet you totally should. Emma Watson surprised the entire world with that amazing, educational and inspiring speech about gender equality. I already loved her and now I loved her even more.

She finished her speech with an amazing line: "If not me, who ? If not now, when ?" And that really stuck with me. I feel like sometimes we all feel powerless or like nobody is going to hear what we have to say and just with that little line she reminded us that everyone's voice is important when it comes to a big and important cause like gender equality.

This really moved me and made me feel weirdly emotional and proud of her. We're all in this fight together and we, as women or men, should always empower each other to succeed.

I know that in a couple of countries, like in the United States, college can get super expensive. So any type of free education is always helpful. Even here in Brazil where the public universities are amazing and the most difficult ones to get into these types of course are always welcomed.

You definitely won't get your a degree from Stanford through those online classes but sure will help you out. Maybe you're still figuring out what you want to study in college or you want some extra help in some areas where you feel like you haven't learned enough.

The website is so easy to use. You just make your account, choose which classes you want to take (I only took Basic Economics and it was really good.) and new lessons will show up on your account every week.

I know for a fact that they give you a certification of participation (which was great for me because I could use for extra curricular activities) and the best part is that they are for FREE.

I know everybody goes through the constant struggle to be healthy and stay active and blogilates really helps me out with that. Cassey is awesome and she always puts me in the mood to work out and gives me that extra motivation to eat healthy.

Her workouts are always fast and straight to the point. So usually I follow 2/3 workout videos a day and they always kick my butt. I highly recommend checking out here videos if you need that extra boost to get yourself moving.

This is a little blogging tip and if you guys haven't noticed I incorporated to the blog this week the "You Might Also Like" gadget in the end of each post. I think it gives a little extra something in the blog and helps new visitors to read more of your blog in one visit.

The process is very well explained on website so you just follow through the steps and you'll get it done in 15 minutes.

I think I've already mentioned this website a couple of times but it's my favorite place to get phone cases. I've recently said bye-bye to my iPhone 4 and upgraded to a 5S so all my amazing phone cases got a new home in my sister's house.

I think the majority of the sellers there are from Asia so it might take a while to get to your house but it's super super cheap and they also offer free shipping which for a compulsive online shopper living in South America is always a plus.

Do you have anything to recommend ? Do you know any of the websites I've mentioned ? What did you think of Emma Watson's speech ?

Please leave me your comments, answers and suggestions. I love hearing from you and your feedback is always important.

Thank you so much for stopping buy and I hope you'll come back soon.

Feel Like Doing Nothing ? 9 Tips To Get You Motivated !

Did you ever have one of those where you just feel like doing nothing ? When nothing around you has the power to get your attention and get you to concentrate ?

Well last Saturday was one of those days for me. I just felt like watching TV and stuffing my body with junk food. There's never a good day to be feeling like this, specially now that I have 1154 projects to finish for school, a blog and two very important exam that I decided to take (my certifications of English and French).

And since I believe that everybody goes through those days I thought that it'd be helpful to share a couple of things that I do to turn things around and actually get things done. Maybe you won't get everything on track that day but at least it won't be complete waste of time.

Actually my first advice would be start with an exercise. But let's face it, when you feel like doing nothing the last thing you want to do is go to the gym or for a run. So I think the best thing you can to cut off the laziness and get into a better mindset is to take a shower.

It's gonna wake you up, make you feel better and get your brain working. And while you're in the shower take your time to shave your legs, do a hair mask or anything you do to treat yourself. It's already going to make you feel more productive because little things like shaving your legs are errands that also need to be done.
Do whatever you do when you're getting ready for the day on the week days. In my case I like to take my time and do my make up and hair as well as put some presentable clothes. If you stay all day lounging around in your pajamas and with crazy hair you'll never feel like doing anything other than staying in bed watching Netflix.

When my room/house is a complete mess (which happens way too often) I just feel overwhelmed, not motivated and grumpy. Your environment has a huge influence in your mood and your feeling so start cleaning.

I like to start with the room I'll be doing my work which is usually my room. So I just go and put away all my clothes and shoes, make my bed, clean my desk, separate the material I'll be using like books, notebooks, pens and all those things.

You'll be surprise with the impact that a simple thing like organizing your room can have on your mood. It'll really boost your productivity.

If organizing is out of the question and you really need to get things done I suggest going out to a library or a coffee shop and getting your work done there. You'll still have a messy house/room when you came back but at least you'll have finished your errands for the day and you can organize everything with more calm or just to it tomorrow.

I also think that leaving the house for a while is really good to get you in the right mindset because sometimes your house is just too comfortable (#firstworldproblems) and with too many distractions to get you to concentrate on your to do list.
I read somewhere (don't ask me where) that writing your errands down makes you more prone to actually doing it. I think this really helps because it puts in perspective everything that needs to be done and makes you feel guilty to just watch TV the entire day. That way you won't forget anything.

So go ahead and write everything down on a piece of paper or go get yourself a planner or something.
I don't know where I got this tip from but I know it was from someone really successful, I want to say Oprah but I honestly can't remember.

It's pretty self explanatory. When you're making your To Do List instead of writing for example DO A BLOG POST, you should divide the task in a couple of steps like : *Edit the pictures *Finish the writing *Link related links and so on..
This way you get that feeling of being productive more often which motivates you to keep going.

Sometime when a task takes so long to finish we tend to loose the motivation more quickly because the finish line is so far way that we just give up half way through.
This is also pretty self explanatory. When you start with the easiest and fastest task you get the feeling of accomplishment fastest and that will motivate you too keep going. So if you have on your list DOING THE DISHES and WRITING AN ESSAY I think you should begin with the dishes because you'll get that done faster and the motivation of accomplishment will give you fuel to finish that freaking essay.
In the days when you feel lazy and like doing nothing is important to take baby steps. If you start being hard on yourself and trying to get everything done ASAP, chances are you'll just go back to bed and curl up with your blanket.

So just go easy. Try to do one thing at a time and reward yourself after. In my case I try to mix things that I really don't want to do with things that I really want to do. Let's say that I need to send a very important email that takes a long time to write, after I do that I reward myself with a couple of minutes of Youtube time.
This is a very personal thing because everybody has their way or special things they do to find motivation. In my case, I do a little bit of everything. I go on Pinterest to find motivational quotes, I watch a couple of Youtube videos (commencement speeches are my favorites- check here and here and you'll not regret it) or just a couple of chapters of a inspirational book. Anythings counts..

What works for you ? How to you get motivated ? What did I miss ?

Please leave me your comments and suggestions. Your feedback is always incredibly helpful and I really could use your help on this topic !

I hope you liked this post and thanks so much reading !

6 Movies I'm Looking Forward To Watching.

I think I've already mentioned before that I'm a movie addict. And this year there are a lot of great movies coming out which gives me way too much excitement. So today I thought it would be cool to share with you guys some of the movies that I'm most excited about watching.

Keep in mind that some of them already came out so probably some of you already watched it, but since I live in Brazil some movies take a awhile to arrive here. It doesn't take too long but it's not on the same day of the releases in USA or some other countries.

And also I've dreading going to the movies lately. It's always so full of people talking, it gets a little expensive if you make it a habit (not really but is still money spent) and I just prefer my bed to be honest. It's comfy, I get to watch it without interruptions on my pajamas and I don't have to pay a small fortune for popcorn or all the KitKats I eat.

Enough with the rambling, let's get to the movies !

This one had to be number ONE in my list. I'm just so excited to see what happens next. I already know more or less because I read all the books. But I read them so long ago that I don't remember everything.

I believe it comes out in November but the worst part is that we need to wait one more year for the final movie and that just drives me crazy. Why would you make the fans that long to watch it ?! I'm not that big of a fan but still kind of pisses me off.

This one already came out (I believe in August) but I haven't got the time to watch it. Just like with The Fault In Our Starts the trailer already got me crying so I'm pretty sure it's gonna be an emotional ride for me. I need to be prepare myself a little before watching. I can't control the crying flow when "Say Something" comes up.. It's just too much for my little heart.

And also I'm currently reading the book as well so I don't know if I wait until I finish or if I just go see it !

It's from Walt Disney and it's got Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick and Jhonny Deep.. Do I need to say anything else to convince to watch ?

In case you're not already sold on that one I should probably mention that it's  Disney's first theatrical adaptation of a Broadway musical and it's gonna be awesome. It comes out on December so we still need to wait a little bit but I'm pretty sure it's gonna awesome.

I don't know if this movie is going to be good or not but I sure think it's going to be funny. In my opinion the trailer looks pretty good and if it's anything like the last one I'm sure it's gonna bring to tears because of so much laughing.

I have to admit that the main reason I'm excited about this movie is because of Daniel Radcliffe. Some people say that he's a horrible actor and that the only reason people like him is because of Harry Potter. In my opinion he's an amazing actor but I can't deny that one of the reason why I like him so much is because of Harry Potter.

But anyway, it looks like this movies is going to be good. And all I know about this one is that it's a little bit scary and it's an adaptation of a book by Joe Hill.

I don't think I need to say anything about this one ! It's gonna be epic and I can't wait to watch it. And I don't know anything about other countries (sorry!) but I'm pretty sure it comes out on December here in Brazil.

DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind that I haven't watched any of these movies so giving out spoilers in the comments would be just mean.

Which movies are you most excited about this year ?
Which are your favorite movies ?

Please leave me suggestions of good movies you watched this year. I'm always looking for new movies to watch !

Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you on the next one !

HOW TO : Make Your Own Favicon.

You might be wondering what the hell is a Favicon and why would you possibly need one.

Continuing my BlogMakeOver Series I decided to talk about favicons today. A favicon is actually something very simple. It's that little image that appears right next to the name of your blog on the tab's browser. If you're reading this post I believe that you still have that "orange B" that blogger gives us.

In my opinion there's nothing wrong with keeping "the B" but changing it for something more personalized makes your blog look a little more professional and cute and it only takes a couple of minutes.

First of all, you'll need to make the image you want it to appear up there. In order to do so just on this website and have fun. You can upload a image you already have or create a completely different one. And the cool thing is that you can see how it will look like on the browser as you're creating it which I think is very useful.

After you created your little master piece you need to click on DOWNLOAD FAVICON and keep it in your computer to upload on your blog's Layout. The Favicon Gadget is located on the top of the Layout and you just have to click edit and upload the file you just downloaded from the website.

It may take a while for it to start showing (specially on Google Chrome, don't ask me why) but it's that easy.

I don't think this will change the design of your blog completely but it's an extra nice touch to make it look more you.

Did you find it easy ? Do you have other tips for other bloggers out there ?
Did you implement it on your blog ?

I would love to know your answers and as always feel free to leave any comments, suggestions, questions, thoughts and opinions. And if you get the chance to do this on your blog let me know so I can check it out !

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you'd like to support the blog please "like" our page on Facebook, it really helps out a lot !
