Heeeeeello, friends!

Guess who is in a good mood? You guessed right:ME! I just came back (I've literally arrived home 40 minutes ago) from one of the best vacations I've ever had in my life. I know I say this about every vacation I take but what can I say? Every vacation is my favorite. I explained everything about it in the last post so if you're a little confused and don't know what I'm talking about just scroll down and hit the little "older posts" arrow in the bottom to read all about it.

But today I just wanted to come over here and to tell you guys that I'm back and that I'm sorry I couldn't update the blog while I was away. I didn't bring my laptop with me because I thought I was going to buy a new one on Black Friday but things were just so crazy that I didn't get around to it. And I was also busy enjoying a much needed break and a lot of family time aaaaand doing a lot of shopping.

Needless to say, we had a great time. We went to Magic Kingdom, did some Black Friday shopping, ate a lot of good food and saw a lot of pretty things. If you live in the Orlando area, you're a lucky human. I'm gonna do separate posts for each day that we spent there so don't worry.

Now it's back to reality. I already have a lot of catching up to do with all the studying I conveniently pushed to the back of my mind while I was away. Piles of required reading are stacked in my asked, silently judging me as I take some time to write this post. But I guess that's how life works. The key balance, right? You struggle for a few months to get a little break once in a while.

As for the blog, things are coming back to schedule. I already have a post to be uploaded on Wednesday and after that I'm gonna see if I can begin with the traveling posts because I took a  ton of cute pictures I want everyone to see. Talking about pictures, I've been posting a lot on Instagram so if you wanna see some of them you can go over there to check it out.

I guess that's about it, guys! For those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you had a great time and got to spend it with friends and family. I cannot believe that tomorrow is already December and the year is practically over - I need to start making plans for New Year's Eve already.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

I'll see you really soon!

Life and Blog Update.

Heeeeello, friends!

I know I’ve been completely gone for the past week but you already know the deal: life happens. I was super busy with some family stuff and the holidays are coming so we had a lot of planning to do. I have to update you guys on, so if you’re interested in my boring old life just keep reading.

First things first, my next traveling destination is going to be the US. Specifically, Orlando – FL and I’m super excited. Me and parents have been planning our itinerary and everything to make super we’re going to have time for the things we want to do. So far it includes: Magic Kingdom, the Universal parks, an entire afternoon at Target so I can get my hands on all that drugstore makeup and multiple nights dining at The Cheesecake Factory, my mom’s favorite. Of course we have other things planned and I’ll let you know all about it later.

We leave this Friday and I’m not sure how my blogging schedule is going to be for the next two weeks since I won’t be bringing my computer with me. It’s just too much to carry and I’ll have my iPad and my phone to stay on track of social media and emails. So if you want to talk to me or keep up with my traveling shenanigans and whatnot just make sure to follow me on Twitter, Instagram or hit the “like” bottom on our Facebook – And I’m not gonna lie, that helps me out a lot with getting the blog out there and increasing our Let Me Cross Over Team.

When I get back I’ll be putting up a lot of traveling posts and also many many hauls that I’m sure I’m gonna have to make due to all the shopping. I’m thinking maybe I’ll do a different post for everyday we’re there with a bunch of pictures and the things that we ended up doing. Maybe I’ll even do some posts with the iPad or my dad’s computer if I’m able to while I’m there but I can’t promise anything.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that Sebastian is coming to Brazil. For those of you who don’t know who he is, Sebastian is my boyfriend and we’re currently dealing with a long distance relationship situation but not for long now. In January he starts a new job here in Brazil (where I live, btw) and we are super excited. If you’re new here you probably don’t know this, but we’ve been doing the long distance thing for far too long (around 2 years) and I’m ready for it to be over. If you want to know more about our weird relationship you can read more about it here, here and here.

Last but not least, I want to mention some of the posts that are coming up soon so you guys know what to expect. I still need to do my monthly empties and my Project Pan update. Things are going pretty well with that project and I was able to finish a lot of things but I think I'm gonna save the finale for when I come back from the trip so I can have one more week to finish up what's left. I'm also planning on doing another project until the end of the year just so I can begin the new year without old products.

I can't believe this year is almost over and that Christmas is just around the corner. I looooove the holiday season but I am not ready for this year to over.. I still have a lot of things I want to accomplish before that.

Now I wanna know about you guys. Let me know what's new in your life, if you have exciting things coming up or anything else you'd like to share with me. I love to hearing from you guys and knowing more about what's going on in your lives.

Thanks so much for reading.

Ps: I also wanted to mention the attacks in Paris. I know that I have a lot of readers that visit the blog almost daily from France and I wanted you guys to know that you are all in my prayers and in my heart. When I saw what happened on the news it literally brought tears to my eyes and I wanted to show my solidarity even if it’s just here on the blog. I hope you and your friends and family members are safe.

My Bookish Pet Peeves.

I don't know if you've noticed but I've been reading a lot this year. It's the first time I've tried the GoodReads Reading Challenge and it's safe to say that I went for it. I believe I've read 54 books so far and my first goal was to read only 30 books. So, I guess congratulations are in order and feel free to leave them on the comments.. I'm just kidding but I would really appreciate it if you did leave a kind comment.

Anyway, today we're not talking about the challenge but we're still talking about books. Since I've been doing a lot of reading I've came across a couple of things that really really really bother me when it comes books. And we're not just talking about the plot or characters, I'm also focusing on the physical aspect of the book and since we, the readers, are the ones who actually spend money buying the books and therefore fostering this industry (I know.. Sometimes I get excited and start to write fancy) I think we should be heard and express our opinions so things can change in the future.

Having said that, I think I should also put out there that I do most of my reading on my Kindle (best thing I ever bought) and I do not own a lot of physical books. That's mostly because of the issues we will discuss in this post but also because I don't like clutter and my room is quite small.

Without further rambling, let's go!

Covers that don't match in a series

I don't even know why publishing houses still do this since everybody seems to hate it. I mean, even if you're not an avid reader you still don't want weird covers on your bookshelf, right? It just goes against the whole purpose of the "series". If it's a series the books are supposed to go together in every way possible and that includes cover matching. I think they do this just so we buy multiples times the same books until we get it all matching.

Covers with real people on it

That's just creepy and I honestly don't know why it bothers me so much. I don't like to have a picture of a random person staring at me while I'm not reading the book. It's like they're judging me and it's just weird and it shouldn't be there. Another reason for this pet peeve is that I like to create an image for the characters in my head as I'm reading the story and giving me picture takes that experience away from me and I don't like it.

"Series" with different main characters

Authors, if you say a compilation of books is a series I expect them to have the same main characters and more or less the same story behind it. Is that too much to ask? If you have 12 books in a "series" and they all talk about different people and different things that aren't even intertwined, I'm sorry but I can't see how that could possibly be a series. I know authors and publishing houses need to make money and this is a good away to do that but it really pisses me off.

Covers related to the movie

That's just wrong! The book is one thing and the movie is another thing. When they put the movie poster on the cover it looks like I'm buying the movie script and I don't wanna do that. And sometimes I really like to book but I hated the movie and I don't want have mix feelings when I see the book on my bookshelf.

Stickers on the covers

Specially if they are advertising some sort of discount. I just hate that dirty little glue that stays on the book after you attempt to remove the sticker. How hard could it be to make a sticker that doesn't leave a mark behind?! Or simply not put a sticker at all? If the book is on sale, put it on a special shelf or bin. One of the perks of getting books on the Kindle is that I don't have to deal with this issue anymore.

I guess these are all my bookish pet peeves. I know they're all silly things that, at the end of the day, don't really matter if you really like a book but they're still there bothering me in the back of my mind. Well, I hope you find liked the post and please let me know your bookish pet peeves so we can share the struggle.

What are your pet peeves when it comes to books?

Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you soon.

Links I'm Loving.

Heeeeello, everybody!

This month no one can complain: I've been posting like crazy! Ok, maybe not like crazy but I've been posting waaay more often that I used to and that feels great. This month has been really good at balancing my life with the blog "schedule", although I'm not really sure that posting every time I feel like it counts as a schedule.

But anyway, today I have some super fun links to share with you. I seriously had to stop myself because when I came here to write this post I already had something like 15 links and that's way too much. So, I put together kind of like a top 5 with a mix between interesting blog tools and fun little videos.

Here are the chosen ones!

Canva: If you're new around here you probably didn't know that I did some design changes but trust me when I say that things are waaaaaay better now. I did it all by myself with a little (lot of, actually) help from my dear friend Canva.

Canva is a super easy to use online design platform. It took me a while to get the hang of it but now this is basically the only thing I use. I did all the blog design, blog titles and pretty much everything blog related over there and seriously love it. If you're looking for an easy alternative to Photoshop or something like that, you should really give Canva a go.

Customizing older and newer post links: This is another thing that will help you out a lot if you're trying to redesign or relaunch your blog. It's a super easy to use code to spice up those boring "older posts" and "newer posts" tags at the bottom of your blog. Once you have those tags done, this will easily help you replace the old ones and make everything more appealing to your readers.

Do I Regret Plastic Surgery: This is a video from of my favorite Youtubers ever, Dulce Candy. In this particular video she talks about her thoughts on having plastic surgery herself (obviously), her regrets and why you should love every single "flaw" you have because that's what makes you you. In my opinion it's more than ok for people to have plastic surgery and I do think it can help with confidence but you just need to make sure you're doing it because you want to, not just because you're feeling pressured to look like someone else.

Faking It: This is another great video and it talks about something that I think pretty much anyone can relate to: feeling lost and not knowing where to go. Katy does a great job at translating this feelings into words and putting some sense in the mess that's going on in people's minds. Especially if you're on your tweenties and still in college, I really recommend taking a couple of minutes from your day to watch.

Aspyn and Parker - The Wedding: If you follow my blog you probably already know who they're. For those of you who don't, Aspyn and Parker are a couple with a vlog channel and I have to admit that I've developed a tiny little obsession with their vlogs. I just love their personality and how cute they're together. So, they've recently got married and this is a little piece of their special day. Even if you don't follow their videos, it's still a beautiful wedding and totally worthy to watch. Even my mom, who doesn't have a clue of who they are, loved the wedding and the way the video was produced.

That's all for today, folks. I hope you enjoyed the links and please let me know on the comments some of your thoughts and opinions about them. Also, if you'd like to be featured on the next post, leave your links down below and I'll make to check them out.

Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you really soon.

NaNoWriMo | I Want To Write A Book!

NaNoWriMo? What sorcery is this?

If you're anything like me, every time you finish reading a book or a blog post you think: Hey, I could totally do that! And that's actually how this blog started.. I was always a super fan of blogs and YouTube channels and since creating a YouTube channel was completely out of the question (I just can't put myself out there in that way) I settled on starting a blog. "Settle" is kind of negative word and I don't think it should be used to describe me starting this super cool and interesting blog (at least in my opinion) so let's just say that starting a blog was the option the suited my personality more.

With the blog I discovered my love for writing and sharing my opinion. I was always a very opinionated person but I never bothered to share them with people because I really hate starting conflict. I have my opinion, you have yours and let's keep on living our lives - That's kind of what I always thought. And the writing aspect.. Well, it just completely blew my mind. I never thought that writing was such a good creative outlet and it's kind of empowering, actually.

Having said that, you can imagine my reaction when I heard of NaNoWriMo which was: I could totallydefinitely write a book. I always wanted to, anyway. And there's no time like the present! So, apparently, that's what I'll be doing in November.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and it's basically a project (you can check out their website here) where writers and inspiring authors commit to, basically, writing a novel in a month. I do not think I'll be able to write an entire novel in a month but I think this is the perfect way to start and see how things go.

I do not think I could become a published author or anything like that. I just thought this was a fun and different thing to try, and who knows? Maybe I do become a writer and this is going to be a fun little post I can come back to and reminisce about where everything started. Well, most likely that will never happen.

Now, I think I should tell you guys the idea for my upcoming novel (upcoming novel, who do I think I am?). Since the genre that I like the most is YA Romance, that's what I'll attempt to write. It's a very simple premise: the life and struggles about a young girl who just got out of college (kind of like yours truly right here) and how she menages to find her way and get her life together. I haven't figured out names for characters or anything like that. Maybe I'll name someone "Levi" I really like that name. I just decided that I want to write it English, even if English is not my first language because I want this to be something that I can share with you guys here on the blog and I don't think most of you will learn Portuguese overnight just to keep up with this little adventure of mine.

So, I guess that's it guys. Let me know if you're crazy enough to join NaNoWriMo so we can cheer each other on and create a little supportive community. For everyone who is joining this:GOOD LUCK! And if you really want to but you don't think you'll be able to: just give it try. I also have no idea what I'm doing but it sounds like a lot of fun.

Are you going to join NaNoWriMo?
What do you think about me writing a book?
Please let me know if your also doing this because
I really don't want to do this alone.

Wish me luck!

Thanks so much for reading and I'll talk to you soon.
