Favorite Books of 2016.

So far, I've read a total of 79 books this year so you can imagine how hard it was to narrow it down to a realistic amount and write this post. I've had an awesome year reading wise (not so much on other aspects of my life but you can't have it all, right?), I've read more than I thought I'd be able to and I've also read some amazing books. I tried to branch out a little more with my reading this year too, as you can see from my picks I tried to incorporate more diverse books and I'm so glad I did that, most of my favorites are actually diverse romances.

Having said that, my reading taste didn't change that much. Young-Adult Romance is still my favorite genre and Rainbow Rowell is still my favorite. I did try out different author, though. Aside from Rainbow, all of the authors I'm mentioning here today are new to me and I've discovered this year. I blame booktube and goodreads. I get most of my recommendations from these sources and I can't complain. And also, just keep in mind that I'm not following any particular order, but I will single out my top 2 (they're both tided at first place, I can't choose).I'm gonna stop myself right now, because if I keep going this post is going to turn into a book itself and I still haven't talked about the books! Let's go!

My Heart and Other Black Holes - Jasmine Warga // This book was a total surprise for me, and I was not expecting to like it that much. It's about a girl who is considering suicide (so, trigger warning) and she goes on an online chat looking for a suicide partner. This is a very rough description of this story and there's a lot more to it. It was cute, inspiring and the romance was adorable. I would say it's a typical YA, so if you're not a big fan of the genre I would skip. But if you're a fan, this is a must read.

Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda - Becky Albertalli // I think this is my favorite book of the year. I'm debating between this and More Happy Than Not. But this one is about Simon. He is gay but he's not out yet, using a secret username he meets another boy from his school online (who also has a secret username which is Blue) and they begin chatting. They start to fall for each other online, without knowing who the other person is. And this to me is just the cutest thing ever. Somehow, someone discovers that they are chatting and then you need to read the book to know more. I think this is an important book to read, it deals with some important high school issues, family and coming out as a teen. I loved it. This is one of the few books I plan on rereading.

You Know Me Well - David Levithan and Nina LaCOUR // Another diverse read. This is one of those books that just puts you in a good mood. I loved all the characters and the fact that the story is set during the San Francisco LGBT Pride. I think it's amazing that more and more authors are writing about this topic, specially coming out in high school. I'm not gay, but I have a lot of friends who are and I know that they struggled a lot with this in high school and how to tell their parents at a young age. But aside from that, this book has so much more to offer. It talks about friendships, romance and finding yourself and what you want to do with your life. I loved it. And specially if you're in high school (gay or straight), you should definitely read it.

More Happy Than Not - Adam Silvera // Tided for first place of 2016, this book is amazing and it gave so many feels you have no idea. Yet another diverse read, I'm not really sure how to describe this story, so I'll just leave the goodreads link here. But this is basically about Aaron dealing with his father's suicide and finding himself. There's a major plot twist and I loved everything about this book. All the characters were amazingly built and they were all interesting. And I did not see that plot twist coming. Adam Silvera's writing is everything I plan on reading every single book he writes from now on.

Night Film - Marisha Pessl // This is the most well made book I've read this year. It was just so good. It's one of those stories that is extremely hard to describe, so you should just read the goodreads description. As I was reading this book, I could notice the amount of hard work and creativity that went into this story. There's is a main plot, but there are all this secondary plots that all interconnect with each other creating this magical thing. It's mystery, thriller, there's murder, voodoo and a lot of scary stuff all mixed in together. The ending was amazing and I felt like even though it didn't answer all my question, it still gave me closure and an ending. I don't even know how to talk about this book. It's amazing. If you like thrillers and mysteries, you need to read this one.

Carry On - Rainbow Rowell // I know there's a lot of controversy surrounding this book because it's basically Harry Potter fan fiction, but I can't help it. I LOVED IT. In this world, Simon Snow (Harry) and Baz (Malfoy) are still enemies, but they fall in love with each other. I just can't. This book was too cute, it had the whole magical school (Watford) vibe again and Penelope (Hermione) is as clever and as badass as ever. It honestly felt like I was reading about other people inside of J.K. Rowling's world, like this was spin-off story about other characters. I know a lot of people didn't like it because of the similarities, but because there were a lot of differences between the original characters, it didn't feel like reading Harry's story again. I think you need to read it for yourself and see if this is something you might enjoy.

Yes Please - Amy Poehler // This book was surprisingly  amazing. I was not expecting to like it so much. I thought it was going to be a fun read (like Chelsea Handler's books), but this was so much more that than. It's still incredibly funny (Amy is one of my favorite comedians), but also had a lot of life lessons. She talks about her entire career, how she began, the hard work she had to do, college and all that good stuff. It was really inspiring. She also talked about dating, discovering your role as woman and having to prove yourself twice as hard just because you were born with a vagina. I loved this book so much, and it even made me tear up a bit during some parts. I already loved Amy Poehler, but now I admire here even more.

These are my favorite reads of 2016. Let me know which one were your favorite books, if you did a blogpost about it or a video, leave the link in the comments that I'll be sure to check it out. I'm always looking for good recommendations and I feel like this is the best time to get them.

What are you favorite reads of 2016?

Thanks so much for stopping by and come back soon!

Monthly Empties | December, 2016.

I cannot believe I'm currently writing the last empties post of 2016. I think I'm going to go back and count how many products I was able to finish up this year, but that's a subject for another post. Since this is the last one, I tried tend the year with a bang and I feel like I did a pretty good job finishing up products. I managed to finish 19 products and I'm really proud of myself. I'm finally seeing some progress in my counters and makeup drawers. They're not filled to the brim anymore and the amount of products I dislike or that I would like to get out of my collection is getting smaller each month.

I finished a lot of samples and freebies, as well as another project pan item. This project pan is FINALLY coming to an end soon (the 1st of January), but I'm excited to see some more progress and hopefully some more items getting out of my collection. All in all, it's been a good year when it comes to empties, I really focused on not buying more products and using up what I already have and I'm very pleased with the result. Let's start with the makeup!
etmecrossover_blog_michele_mattos_blogger_clinique_take_the_day_off_makeup_remover_fitme_foundation_maybelline_cruelty-free_impala_esmalte_nail_polish_blue_light_valentino_valentina_perfume_zara_blackberry_day_foundation
Maybelline Fitme Foundation in 235 // I remember liking this foundation when I got it, but I feel like it went a little bad towards the end, but I still managed to use it up. This lasted me a couple of years actually, probably because I don't wear liquid foundation very often. I'm more of a powder foundation kind of girl. My main problem with this was the finish it gave on the skin, it's extremely dewy (borderline oily in my opinion) and I feel like it oxidizes throughout the day. I'm not really sure. All I know is that, the color changed throughout the day and I really did not care for that. In order to use it up I mixed it in with a CC Cream I have that it's shade lighter.
Repurchase? Never! Not the best drugstore foundation out there and Maybelline is NOT cruelty-free.

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover // Another one I didn't really like. I've finished one of these samples before, and I wasn't impressed than and I'm not impressed now. I think Micellar waters do a better job at removing makeup and they're waaaay cheaper. This little bottle is also not very good, the product leaked everywhere when I took it on a trip and it really pissed me off.
Repurchase? No! Clinique is NOT cruelty-free and this makeup remover is not very good.

Zara A Blackberry Day Eau de Toilette // I loooooove this scent. I got this years ago and I haven't found it in stores ever since. This smells exactly like blackberries and I want to smell like that everyday. The only bad thing about this is that it came in a roller ball and I'm not a big fan of roller balls, but I just poured it in another container and everything worked out. I love this. I will look for it on Amazon and see if I can still get it somehow.
Repurchase? Hopefully, yes! Not sure if Zara's perfumes are cruelty-free.

Valentino Acqua Floreale Valentina // I also looooooooved this scent. I have no idea how to describe it, but it's the perfect scent for me - I know that doesn't really help you, but try it out next time you're at Sephora. Once I'm done with all of my perfumes and fragrances I'll definitely try to get this one.
Repurchase? Yes!

Impala Nail Polish in Marina // This dried out on me, but I used most of the product anyway so I'm not that sad. This formula wasn't my favorite, but it did last a long enough time on the nails. I really liked the color too.
Repurchase? No. Not my favorite formula and I don't think this brand is cruelty-free.
etmecrossover_blog_michele_mattos_blogger_hotel_body_lotion_nivea_cream_cowshed_pillow_mist_indie_products_relaxing_bristol_restaurant
Assortment of Hotel lotions // I feel kind of silly reviewing hotel lotions, but I still wanted to featured them here because, well, I finished them. I've had these for years in the back of my drawers taking up space, so got them all out and put them in my bedside table to make sure I used them. I still have a couple of them left. I usually just apply them on my feet and hands because I don't think they have the best ingredients for you to just cover up your entire body. I could just throw them out, but that would be a waste of product because they're not the best quality but they still work. And I hate producing more waste than I absolutely have too. Needless to say, I won't be taking them from hotels anymore.

Nivea Cream // I've had this for two years I think, and I'm so glad it's finally gone. This is not my favorite moisturizing lotion. It was too thick and I felt like my skin didn't absorb it well. It was really moisturizing, but nothing extra special.
Repurchase? No. Nivea is not cruelty-free.

Cowshed Sleepy Cow Relaxing Pillow Mist // I think my dad got this freebie in a airplane. I'm not really sure, but it ended up in my bathroom drawer and I wanted to use it up. You're supposed to spray this on your pillow to help you relax and sleep better. I'm not sure if it worked or not, but it did smell good. It was nice to use while I had it, but I wouldn't spend my money on it.
etmecrossover_blog_michele_mattos_blogger_nivea_deodorant_dove_baby_wipes_tresemme_perfectly_undone_sea_salt_spray_glycerin_glicerina_sabonete_london_england_united_kingdom
Nivea Stress Protect Deodorant // I hated this deodorant. A friend of mine actually got this for me because I asked her to please buy me any deodorant, I guess that was my fault. But, this was bad. I didn't like the scent, the formula or even the packaging. I felt like this didn't do anything for me other than have a strong scent.
Repurchase? No. Nivea is not cruelty-free.

TRESemm√© Perfectly (Un)Done Sea Salt Spray // My hair is naturally wavy so I didn't feel like this did anything special for me. I would apply this after I washed my hair, and now that I don't have it I don't see any different whatsoever. I think I just stay away from these kinds of sprays from now on.
Repurchase? No. And also, TRESemm√© is not cruelty-free.

Glycerin Soap // I've been trying out all kinds of natural soaps to see which one I like best and it's not this one. It doesn't say the brand name on the packaging. This made skin feel dry and itchy.
Repurchase? No.

Dove Baby Wipes // I've been trying to go through my baby wipes, but I just have so many of them on my back stock. These were ok, they did their job but there was nothing special about it. And from what I remember these were not very cheap either. I used these for taking off makeup on lazy days (I had to soak this with my micellar water first) and wiping my counters.
Repurchase? No. Dove is not cruelty-free.
letmecrossover_blog_michele_mattos_blogger_dove_beauty_bar_cruelty_free_bath_and_body_works_carried_away_veet_wax_streeps_easy_grip_fragrance_mist_clean_and_clear_soap_blackhead
Veet Easy Grip Wax Streep // I'm a big fan of these. I usually used them on my upper lip (mustache area) and forehead (above my eyebrows). I really like them. It's fast and easy and this is way cheaper than going to the beauty salon. It still hurts, but it's better (and faster) than going in with a tweezer.
Repurchase? Yes. I'm not sure if Veet is cruelty-free.

Clean&Clear Blackhead Clearing Bar Soap // I'm not a big fan of face washes or any kind of special soaps, but I've had this in my drawer for almost an year now and it was about time I used it up. This doesn't do anything special for my skin and I haven't noticed a difference when it comes to blackheads. I'm not a big fan of the scent either.
Repurchase? No. Clean&Clear is not cruelty-free.

Dove Original Beauty Bar // I think this is the last one I have left. You guys know how I feel about this. And if you don't, just check out this empties post.
Repurchase? No. Dove is not cruelty-free, unfortunately.

Bath & Body Works Fragrance Mist in Carried Away // This is the item from my project pan I was talking about. I don't know why, but it takes me several months to go through these mini bottles. I sprayed this everyday, multiple time a day, and it still took me ages to finish this up. This is not my favorite BBW scent, and I felt like this one didn't last as long as the other ones on the skin.
Repurchase? No. There's a lot of mixed information online, but it says on the packaging that BBW is cruelty-free. I still wouldn't repurchase this scent in particular.

This is everything I was able to finish up this month! I'm happy with the result and now I just have to focus on my project pan items - the finale is probably going up at the beginning of January because I'm going to need these last few days of 2016 to finish those products. I'm planning on doing some more project pans in 2017, but we'll see how things go.

Did you finish up anything this month?
What are your goals for next year?

Thanks so much for watching and have a great day!

Can I still wish you Happy Holidays?

Heeeeello, everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful time yesterday and today! Even though I'm a little late to this Christmas party, I still wanted to come over here to wish you all a Happy Holiday! My mom's birthday is actually on the 24th, so I really didn't have any time to sit down and write this post until now. We had an amazing time yesterday and today. We opened presents, watched The Grinch and Christmas with the Kranks, baked cookies, ate way too much food and spent some quality time by the pool (Christmas in South America has its perks). We'll be dealing with the aftermath of last nights meals for the next couple of days, but that's more than fine. I've never seen so many leftovers in my entire life.

I always get a little sentimental during this time of the year, so I wanted to also take this time to thank you guys for supporting me during this last couple of years. I started this blog in the beginning of 2014 and I've never thought I would still be here in 2016. Thanks for the support, for the comments, for the kind words on twitter and instagram and for just coming over here to hang out for a couple of minutes. I started this blog because I wanted to (there's no other way to put it) and although I do it for myself, knowing that my work is appreciated by so many of you (ok, maybe not that many) all over the world is one of the best things ever.

I'm not lucky enough to call blogging my full-time job, but I believe everyone wants to feel recognized by their hard work (and I do work hard on this blog) and I wanted to thank you all for making me feel that way, even if it's just by adding another number to my page views. I see you, I appreciate you and thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read my words. Blogging is weird, I don't know the majority of you and I don't know how many people this message is going to reach, but if you're reading this I just wanted to say "THANK YOU" and I truly hope you had an amazing holiday.

I hope I'm still here this time next here to get even more sentimental with you guys! I really want to know how you spent your holidays. What did you eat? Where did you go? What Holiday do you celebrate? I know still weird (like I said, blogging is weird), but I do care about you and I want to know.

Thanks so much for reading and come back soon!

The Christmas TAG!

Heeello, everyone!

I hope you're all ready for a chatty post because that's what you're getting today. If you know anything about me as a blogger, you know I'm a big fan of TAGs (click here to see the amount of TAGs I've done throughout the years). I just think they're a fun way to bring the blog community together and to help me connect with you guys - please feel free to answer this TAG on your blog or any platform you have. And since it's Christmas, I thought: What a better way to talk about my favorite things about the season? Since I couldn't come up with anything different, I decided to do this tag today! YAY! Jokes aside, I really like answering TAGs and it'd be really fun if you guys could answer it too so we can talk about it. I have no idea if I'm doing the right one, I just googled it and that what I found so..

1. What's your favorite Christmas movie?
If I had to pick only one, it would have to be The Grinch. But I do have a lot of favorites, you can click here and here to get some recommendations if you'd like. Second favorite is, by far, Love Actually.

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
I think once when I was very little. My mom's birthday is on the 24th, so we traveled to celebrating everything in the US and I think it snowed, but I can't remember very well.. I was 5. Generally, my Christmas are the opposite of White. I live in Brazil, so it's actually summer over here.

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At home with my family. I did actually spend one Christmas in Rome a couple of years ago and it was amazing, you can check it out here if you want.

4. What's your favorite Christmas song?
Winter Wonderland and It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year.

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
We open all of them actually. When midnight rolls around my entire family exchanges gifts and we all open everything. And then on the 25th, we get together again and have lunch.

6. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers?
Rudolph.. No, I can't.

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
It's actually a new tradition. A couple of years back, me and my sister started baking Christmas cookies and marathoning Christmas movies on the 24th. We drink wine, put on some music, it's pretty fun!

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake. I don't think we can even get a real one on Brazil this time of the year. We've also had the same tree for years now, we can't throw it away.. It's part of the family.

9. What's your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
I'm not a big fan of Christmas food actually, and here in Brazil we do things a little different than in other countries. I assume every country celebrates it differently - that's why I really want you guys to answer this TAG. But, we usually have turkey on Christmas and I think that's my favorite food. I like Christmas cookies too.

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
By far, giving gifts. My mom and my dad get so excited when we give them something. It's priceless.

11. What's the best Christmas gift you've ever received?
This year I got a MacBook Air (my dad already gave it to me). That's was really cool.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Somewhere they really go all out with Christmas celebrations and where there's snow. If you know a place the fits this very broad answer, please let me know on the comments. I'll be forever grateful.

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I don't even try. These days everything comes pretty much wrapped and in nice bags from the store, why spend even more money wrapping it again?

14. Most memorable holiday moment?
I don't know. I enjoy every holiday moment, I haven't had one that stood out to me yet.

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?
What are you talking about? What truth?

16. Do you make New Year's Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I usually don't, but I'm going to this year. I have a whole plan for setting and sticking to my resolutions. I'm going to make an entire dedicated to it soon!

17. What makes the holidays special to you?
Spending time with family. Me and my sister moved out, and we don't get to spend as much time together as we did before. The holidays are just the best because nobody can say "I can't make it today, I'm busy", you have to go and there's no excuse. There's no work, no obligations.. Just being with family for a couple of days. I love it!

These are my answers, guys! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and that you're having a great time. I also hope you already did all your Christmas shopping because that's stressful.  If you get the chance to answer this TAG on your blog, please do. I'm really curious to read your answers and see how you spend your holidays! I'm tagging EVERYONE! I mean it, consider yourself tagged. If you don't feel like answering everything, just leave in the comments how you spend your holidays.

How do you spend your holidays?
What holiday do you celebrate?

Thanks so much for reading and I'll talk to you really soon!

Pan That Palette 2017!

Today we're taking a break from the regular Christmas post to talk about makeup! If you've been following me for a while you already know how excited I get with project pans and makeup empties. The year I started blogging I attempted my first project pan, it was a disaster but it made me fall in love with panning and going through my makeup. If you're a makeup lover like me, you know how important it is to go through your products, rotate them and make sure that they're not forgotten in a drawer somewhere.
I
So, after doing a bunch of project pans throughout the years (I'm currently doing one right now) I decided to try the Pan That Palette. When it comes to eyeshadow palettes, I don't really have a lot of big ones (I only have the Naked2 and the Gwen Stefani one), so I decided to work on some of my smaller palettes. I picked the oldest ones and the ones with more neutral color because that what I use the most. Between the three smaller palettes there's a total of 21 shades, so I don't think that will be a problem. And here they are!
letmecrossover_blog_michele_mattos_blogger_travel_beauty_fashion_makeup_pan_that_palette_kiko_milano_eyeshadows_forever_21_love_natural_neutral_shades_naked_urban_decay_gold_brown_look_ootd_fotd_face_of_the_day_iphone
Kiko Street Fashion Palette in Addictive Song 02 // I'm a little worried with this one. The shades are super neutral, but the highlight shade is huge and that pink is not something I wear very often. I've been using it on the crease mixed in with the brown, but I can only wear a little bit at times. I just started using this palette on Monday, so let's see if I can come up with new uses or new looks incorporating this shadow. The deep purple is gorgeous, no worries there. The dark brown too, I can wear it as a liner or in the outer-v and crease.

Forever 21 Love & Beauty Eyeshadow Palettes // I have no idea when I got this palettes, but they're surprisingly good quality. They don't have any names on the back so I can't differentiate them that way. The little quad is the older one, I've had it for longer than I care to admit. But these shades are beautiful, they still work and they don't smell funny or anything. I'm a little worried when it comes to the big one though because I've only hit pan on two shades, and I've been wearing them for ages: the dark matte brown and the cream white with the shimmer. I have no idea how I'm going to wear the light peach and light pink ones, these are not shades I wear on a everyday basis. But, we'll see.
letmecrossover_blog_michele_mattos_blogger_travel_beauty_fashion_makeup_pan_that_palette_kiko_milano_eyeshadows_forever_21_love_natural_neutral_shades_naked_urban_decay_gold_brown_look_ootd_fotd_face_of_the_day_iphone
I wanted to get this post up today because I can't wait to begin. I'm giving myself a head start since I'm starting at the end of December and not at the beginning of January, but I don't think this will change anything drastically. The goal is to finish up the eyeshadow, it doesn't really matter when I start, right? I'm super excited and I can't wait to see some more progress.

As for updates, I don't really know what I'm going to do. I don't wear makeup everyday so I don't know how the progress is going to be or in what pace. I'll do one at the end of January, and after that we'll see how things go. I'll let you know on the post. If you have any suggestion let me know on the comments, I really appreciate it! I guess this is going to be all for today's post. If you're doing the Pan That Palette 2017, please leave me your blog link or your YouTube channel, I'd love to keep up with your progress.

Are you doing Pan That Palette 2017?
Which palette are you panning?

Christmas Movie Marathon.

I feel like when it comes to Christmas movies most people usually focus on the old-school ones. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, I love me some Home Alone and A Christmas Story (which actually come out in 1983) during the Holiday Season. But, when it comes to Christmas movies that's one of the few categories in life where the new ones get a little overlooked. So, today I thought it would be cool to share with you guys some of my favorite ones, and the best part is: most of them are available on Netflix! You can totally take a break from all the shopping and cooking, and just take back for a little bit with one of these amazing movies (and maybe some wine).
Love Actually // I had to mention this one. This is by far my favorite movie on this list, and I really like all of them so that's saying something. I'm not going to talk about it because I feel like everyone and their mother already watched it. This is just an honorary mention. If you haven't watched this one yet, I suggest you go do it. Right now.

Christmas With The Kranks // This movie is just too funny. The Kranks decided that they're skipping Christmas this year and going on a cruise. They decided to not spend money and time on all the Christmas festivities since their daughter is not even coming home. But, plot twist! She decides to go home last minute and they have to pull out Christmas in a matter of hours. Tim Allen is in pretty much every Christmas movie ever made and Jamie Lee Curtis is just one of the funniest ladies that ever existed. This is one of those movies that always puts me a good mood, and me and my sister watch it every year.

The Holiday // If I'm being honest, I didn't even like this movie the first time I watched. It's one of those who grows on you and I would recommend it for older audiences since you won't really get the essence of it if you're a teenager. Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet met online in a "house swap" (is that what this is called?) kind of website. They both need a break from their current life. One lives is California, the other in the UK (or is it Scotland?). This is all about finding yourself and what really makes you happy. Dealing with work, relationships and all that adult stuff. It's full of life lessons and it's unexpectedly funny at times.

The Family Stone // This movie is too good (and too funny), and I feel like not a lot of people talk about it. Sarah J. Parker is a total boss-lady-business-woman and she goes spend Christmas in her new boyfriend's house. This movie is about accepting people's difference and going through things as a family. I love it.

Just Friends // Anna Faris is my favorite thing about this movie. It's funny, there's romance, best friends reconnecting and all that good stuff. From this list, this is my least favorite, but it's still really good.

I hope you're all enjoying the Holiday Season as much as I am. I've been doing a lot of shopping, relaxing, netflixing, reading and going to the pool (it's summer here), but mostly reading by the pool. Let me know on the comments if you have more movies to add to the list. Me and my sister will really appreciate all your recommendations (specially if they're on Netflix) because we NEED some Christmas movies to watch. We usually marathon watch a bunch of them on the 23rd while making cookies.

What's your favorite Christmas movie?
Do you have any traditions?

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you're having a wonderful day!

5 Books To Read During The Holidays.

Heeeello, everyone!

I hope you're all having a great start to the Holiday season, and if you're not just stick with me and I'll get you on the holiday cheer spirit, actually these next books will. I know I've mentioned this before, but I'm 100% a seasonal reader (specially during the holidays). December and January are my favorite months of the year, everybody is happy from spending time with their families, there's so much to be grateful for and if I can extend that even a little bit by reading certain book you know I will.

I got here 5 books to talk to you guys about. I've only read one of them and the others were all recommendations I took from book blogs, GoodReads and BookTube. These are all books I'm super excited to read and that I've already purchased on my Kindle, so you know I'm not kidding around. I don't know how many I'll be able to get to this month, but I'm going to try my best. I'm currently on 'summer break', so I have a lot of free time to read. Anyway, here are the book!

My True Love Gave To Me - Stephanie Perkins // This is the only one I've already read. I think I read this last Christmas and I loved it. Seriously, this is THE book to read if you're looking for a funny-feel-good-heart-warming read (perfect for this season). This is actually a collection of short stories put together by Stephanie Perkins, all set during the holidays. I do have my favorites, but mostly they're all good. This is the first one I'm talking about for a reason, if you can only get one book from these, I highly suggest this one.

Twelve Days Of Christmas - Debbie Macomber // I haven't read anything from Debbie Macomber, but according to my research results (I take reading very seriously) she's the one to go to for Christmas stories. I think I'm going to start with this one just because I've had it the longest and I hate accumulating book on my Kindle. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what this book is all about, the cover got me and the fact that people were saying a lot of good things about this author sold me. Crossing my fingers this is as good as I'm hoping it to be.

Miracle On 5th Avenue - Sarah Morgan // What sold me on this book it the fact that it has a 4.19 rating on GoodReads. That's pretty high for a book that it's not very talked about around booktube and book blogs. Maybe it was and I missed it.. I don't know. The story seems pretty fun too. It's about a girl who was going to spend Christmas alone, but gets the opportunity to house sit penthouse in NY. I love NY, Christmas and romance. This sounds likes it right up my alley.

Twelve Days Of Dash And Lily - Rachel Cohn and David Levithan // I know a lot of people already love Dash and Lily from a previous book (Dash and Lily's Book of Dares), I haven't read that book so I'm not really sure what to expect. The fact that a lot of people liked that book makes me think that this is something that I'm really going to enjoy. It's YA, set during the Holidays and it has quirky characters. What more can I ask for?

What Light - Jay Asher // This book is everywhere. I think it came out recently and a lot of book bloggers and booktubers were sent this for review. Apparently, the story is about a girl and her family. They have a Christmas three farm somewhere and they only go to that place during the holidays. I'm guessing there's a love interest since this is YA. This sounds like a super cute Christmas story. Can't wait to get to it!

On top of my already long December TBR, these are some of the books I'm planning on reading as well throughout December and January. I hope this post helped you out if you were looking for Christmas reads. I know I was and it was hard to find a good recommendations list like this. Let me know on the comments what you're planning to read this season!

Do you have any recommendations to share with us?
Are you a seasonal reader too?
What are you currently reading?

Thanks so much for stopping by and come back soon!

Personal Development | Youtubers That Can Help.

I usually like to take December as a month to regroup. I like to go through my resolutions and see the things that I accomplished from the list, the things I accomplished that were not on the list, and the things I decided throughout the year that I didn't want to accomplish anymore. I take this time to really think about the year and where my life is taking me. I know this all sounds very cliche, but it does help. I truly believe that every big event that happens in your life is a result of your daily small steps, and if you want things to happen you need to take intentional actions every single day and hold yourself accountable.

Having said all of that, I also think that it's never too late to work on your 2016 Resolutions or too early to work on your 2017 Resolutions. I feel like right now is always the best time to start, and it's never too late to begin. I've been doing some great changes in my life, starting with Minimalism, intentional living and working a lot on personal development. Along with that, my tastes and people I watch on Youtube have changed and I wanted to share that with you guys today. I already spend so much time watching Youtube videos that I thought "why not put that time to good use". All the channels I'm mentioning today, I believe, will help you out in one way or another. They're all about being better, developing good habits and just working on yourself.

Muchelle B | I'm going to start with my favorite. I've recently discovered Michelle's channel and I've already binge watched most of her videos. To mention a couple of my favorites, I think you should check out How To Build And Keep Good Habits and Minimalism And Money. I truly enjoy her videos (to the point where I get excited when they pop on my subscription box) and I really think they can help you out or at least give you a new point of view to consider.

Ana Mascara | Ana's channel is all about studying tips, memorization and all that good stuff.  If you're in college/school or if you're just taking a new course, this is the place to go (specially during finals). Strategic Reading and How To Make A Study Schedule are two very good videos that really helped me. I honestly feel like anyone who is studying anything can take something from her videos.

The Strive To Fit | This is the kind of channel I go on when I need studying motivation. She has a very specific vibe, she's currently in medical school and most of her videos are about that topic, but I don't have anything to do with medical school and I still enjoy watching her. She does a lot of Day In The Life, Weekend Vlogs and Study Tips videos that I really enjoy watching. Like I said, her videos really help me, and if you're needing some motivation it can't hurt to try.

Sugar Mamma | I discovered her channel when I was researching Minimalism, but she does so much more than that. She talks about decluttering, finances, budgeting and even fashion. I love her personality, and she has such a calming presence that her videos help me relax. Her minimalism videos are my favorite, and if you want a place to start check out the Mini Minimalism Challenge.

These are all the channels I'm sharing with you guys today. I hope you enjoyed the post. If you're interested in that topic, I'm really thinking about bringing more personal development content into the blog. This is just something that really interests me and that I truly believe can help out a lot of people. I know most of this sounds really cliche and uncool, but working on yourself and doing something with your life is really cool to me. Taking care of yourself (mind and body) should always be at the top of your list.

Do you have any personal development tips to share with us?
What do you think about this topic?

Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!

Minimalism | Giving and Receiving Gifts | My Experience.

As you guys know, I've been on this minimalist journey for quite a while now and I wanted to come over here to chat about Minimalism and the Holidays. Although I've seen a lot of people talking about what to give to a minimalist, this is not going to be a gift guide because I suck at those. I don't even know exactly what I want for Christmas so I can't advise you on what to get for others. I'll say this though, if you're shopping for a minimalist, make sure you're getting practical, useful gifts. I think you should avoid decor items, clothes, or anything that that you'd consider 'extra', you know?

As I've been diving more and more into Minimalism, I've realized that I've been changing quite a lot. Shopping doesn't appeal to me as much, so shopping for others has become more of a task and not as enjoyable as it once was. But, that doesn't mean I'm not giving them something nice for the holidays. If you're a minimalist I think you need to consider that just because you're a minimalist doesn't mean others have to suffer the collateral damage. I still want my friends and family to get nice things for Christmas because I care about them and I know they'll appreciate it, even if that's not the case for me. I think the best way to go about this topic is to share with you guys what I've been doing and what I've been planning just so you get an idea and see if it works for you.

When it comes to receiving gifts, I told my family I didn't want anything right off the bat. Then, they said 'well, too bad.. pick something', which was expected. For my sister, I asked for a couple of books I need for some things I'm studying, and she was super happy about it. Those books are expensive, and I think she was happy to help with something that is really important to me. With my parents, we settled on money. I know this is not an option in some families, but I explained to them that I was planning on doing some traveling with my friends next year, and that money would really help out with that. My grandma always gives me money anyway, so that wasn't a problem. And my extended family (uncles, cousins and aunts), I didn't feel comfortable asking for money, so I'm just rolling with it. It all depends on what they're going to gift me. Usually, it's clothes or some nicknacks. So, I'm planning on donating the things that I don't like. I don't think anyone benefits from me hanging on to things I know I won't use, and donating to charity (specially on the Holidays) it's really cool thing to do.

As for giving gifts, I decided to put minimalism on the side and just focus on things that I know for a fact they will use and enjoy. For my mom, I'm getting her a lotion set (she uses lotion everyday, so I know it won't go to waste). My dad is getting socks, I know it sounds lame, but there's a store here in our mall that sells the socks that he likes and they're pretty expensive, so that was the easiest one to figure out. My sister a lotion/soap set similar to the one I'm giving my mom. She loves lavender soap and I know she uses that in her house, so it won't go to waste. I'm getting this sets from Granado. I've mentioned them before here in the blog, but they're a super cool Brazilian company that doesn't test on animals and has super cute packaging. To me, it's important to stick to my values even when I'm shopping for someone else, and I didn't want to get stuff from brands that I know test on animals.

And then, for my two best friends, I did a little DYI. I bought two cute mugs and filled them with chocolate and candy I know they love. We usually don't give each other expensive gifts, it's just something to celebrate the holidays and show that we remembered each other. You can also include a card if you feel like giving it a more personal touch to it, but I don't really like cards so I decided to skip it. But, that's about it!

That's what I'm planning on doing for the Holidays this year. If you're a minimalist, don't get angry or upset if people gift you something you don't enjoy or that you didn't ask for. Gift giving is all about appreciating other people and you can always donate these things to charity and make someone's day. I also strongly suggest donating to charity this time of the year, if a minimalist in your life said they didn't want anything for Christmas, make a donation in their name to a cause that's close to that person or to you. I'm sure it will be the best gift you could ever give them without giving them anything.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know on the comments what you think about this topic. I know it's hard to be a minimalist and I know that a lot of people just don't get it. Keep in mind that, you could really offend someone by not accepting their gift or being a Grinch about it. Giving someone gifts is a way to show love. So, just accept the gifts and then just give them away to charity after. Nobody needs to know.

Do you have any tips to share with us?

Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!
