Pan That Palette Update.

Heeeello, everyone!

If you missed my Pan That Palette updates, I'm sorry it took me this long to figure out what I want to do - I haven't done an update since February, but I was contemplating stopping the challenge altogether.. I've started out with three palettes, the three oldest eyeshadows in my collection and, to be honest, I thought this was going to be extremely easy, a piece of cake. But, as it turns out, using up an entire pan of eyeshadow takes a long time, specially when you don't do your makeup everyday like myself.. I can go an entire week without wearing any makeup and to use up an entire eyeshadow palette in a year you have to actually use eyeshadow almost every single day. And also, the fact that two of the three palettes I chose were extremely old and poor quality to begin with didn't help.

I've decided to just throw away the two palettes that we pissing me off - two super old palettes I got from Forever 21 a couple of years ago, you can see them on the updates here, I was actually making some progress. Makeup is supposed to be a fun hobby for me, something I enjoy doing and that brightens up my day, not a chore. I already have too much stress in my life to add to it with an old makeup palette, right?! So, when I decided to throw them out, I was contemplating wether or not I should just go ahead and quit the challenge. But, I've clearly decided not to. I started this whole thing to downsize my makeup collection and decluttering is a way of downsizing. I also didn't want to disregard the progress I've been making on the palette that I've decided to keep.

I've been making progress but I still don't think I'll be able to finish it all up. I'm feeling like I've failed this and I hate this feeling. It's a small palette with only 5 pans and I still won't be able to finish it up in the year. It just goes to show that we actually don't really NEED all the makeup we buy! So, this is becoming a little too dramatic.. It's only makeup, Michele! Let's get to the update!

As you can see, this is the only one that's left - the Kiko Milano Street Fashion Palette in Addictive Song (02). The more I use it, the more I love these shades. The formula is amazing and I don't even use an eye primer most of the time because I just don't feel like I need it. The only minor issue I have with this palette is the marron (or is it burgundy?) shade, which is a bit chalky and difficult to incorporate in most looks. But, the rest is awesome, no complains! I even use the pink shade quite often on the crease mixed in with the light brown for a sunset-ish/warm look.

The light brown shade is by far my favorite from this palette. It's actually my favorite light brown shade ever, the tone just works perfectly with my skin and the warm looks I usually go for, which is why it's the one with the most pan. I've actually repressed it and there's already major pan showing again. Hitting pan on the dark brown was a pleasant surprise since I only use it to set my eyeliner whenever I use brown liner. But, I've been trying to use it more often on the crease and the outer-v. The problem is that I usually go for this palette when I want a soft, everyday look so the dark brown doesn't always fit in with that look. The picture doesn't do it justice thought, this shade is gorgeous.. It has pinkish undertows and warm shimmer in it, it's super unique.
letmecrossover_project_pan_makeup_michele_mattos_blogger_blog_pan_that_palette_update_2017_kiko_milano_makeup_yotuber_famous_hit_pan_empties_empty_hit_or_miss_street_fashion_addictive_song_02_swatches
Surprisingly, the shimmery white shade is the one I'm most "worried" about just because it the pan is HUGE. No one needs that much of one shadow, even if it's the all over the lid/highlight shade. It's a gorgeous shade and I love it, but it is too much product. I can't really use it as face highlight or anything like that because it too intense and I'm going to look like a disco ball if I do. Like I said, I'm enjoying these shades and they're fun to use, but I don't think I'll be able to use up the entire thing until December. We're almost in August and I haven't even hit pan on all of the shades.

I guess that's it for my update! From now on, I think I'll go back to doing the monthly. If you have any tips on how I could use these shades faster, they'd be much appreciated. I've already accepted the fact that I won't be able to finish up this palette in 2017, but it'd be really cool if I did. I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that these types of challenges are not for me since I just don't wear makeup on a daily basis, I think I should just focus on my empties and project pans

Are you doing the Pan That Palette Challenge?!
Have you ever used up on entire eyeshadow palette?!
Do you have any tips?

Let's chat!

Thanks so much for reading and have a wonderful weekend!

BOOKS // Monthly Wrap-Up // July, 2017.

What's up, everyone?!

Where's the time going?! What's going on? JULY IS ALMOST OVER! I mean, seriously.. something is up with the time because July flew by! Nevertheless, I managed to read 4 books this month.. crazy, right?! I was incredibly busy with life in general like always, studying like a maniac, but somehow the reading gods helped me out and I did it! And also, the books I chose for this month were all pretty great! I feel like reading wise, I haven't been having the best month and I don't know why.. maybe I was just picking the wrong books to read, but not this month!

I've finally read a classic! I've been telling myself I should read more classics and it's actually one of my Reading Resolutions for 2017, but I just didn't get around to it until this month and I loved the one I picked, which is getting me motivated to pick another one for August. I also finally got around to reading a book that has been sitting on my Kindle for ages and I honestly thought I would never get around to it - best feeling ever, right?! I know July is not over yet, but I'm sure won't be finishing another book anytime soon, so I thought I would get a jumpstart on this wrap-up!

It's Kind of a Funny Story - Ned Vizzini // First book I read this month and I loved it so much! It's waaaay better than I was expecting. I've seen the movie before and I really disliked the book, but a lot of people online were recommending this as a good book for people struggling with their mental health and anxiety (ME!), so I decided to give it go. I loved this book from the start, the wiring is amazing and the author is incredibly funny. The main character was extremely relatable and sometimes it felt like he was describing exactly what I was feeling. The book is mainly about a teenage boy who studies really hard to get into a very prestigious school, and when he finally gets in her starts to deal with severe anxiety and depression, which leads him to check himself into a mental hospital. Honestly, I loved everything about it. I loved the way it shows how hard it is to explain to people (even parents and close friends) what your going through when it comes to mental health and how some people just don't get it, the way it's also extremely hard to accept your own issues and take some time out to deal with them. I also loved how all the other characters were unique and that, even though it talks about a very serious topic, I found myself laughing out loud while reading it. My heart broke a little when, after reading it, I found out the story is loosely based on the author's life and how he committed suicide not a long time ago. This book is a masterpiece and the ending was fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend this to ANYONE, specially if you're going through a hard time with depression and anxiety (like me).

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen // Another amazing book! I can't believe it took me this long to read this book, seriously. I'm not gonna explain the plot because it's a classic and you all should at least know what's it about, but I will say that it's sooo good, waaaaay better than I was expecting it. Since it's a classic, the English was a bit hard to understand at times, specially if English is not your first language like in my case (I'm Brazilian), but nothing major or anything like that. The plot is amazing and the characters are so unique and interesting! This made me want to take a English literature class so much! Needless to say, this gets 10 out of 10 and I'll definitely will be reading more Jane Austen for sure!

Joyride - Anna Banks // This is the book that has been sitting on my Kindle for ages, collecting digital dust and mocking me for not getting to it every month. I got this after reading Of Poseidon from the same author (read my thoughts here) - I kinda enjoyed the writing on that one, but not the plot about mermaids and all that. So, I wanted to try something else from this author and I picked up Joyride. The cover is gorgeous and tbh that's what really made me buy it in the first place. The book itself was good, but not great. I loved the fact that it portrays so much diversity, which is something I wasn't expecting from an YA novel and it's really awesome - we need more diversity in YA, that's for sure! I disliked some parts and some characters, but nothing major or that made me stop reading it. It was good and if you're already a fan of Anna Banks I would totally recommend reading it. If you're not a fan of YA, stay away - this has all the typical YA romance cliches. I like YA and I like YA cliches, so I'm giving this a 3.5/5.

Before the Fall - Noah Hawley // This book is everywhere. I think it was a NYT bestseller or something like that and everyone has been reading it and recommending it on social media. This is usually not the type of book I go for and I'm not a big fan of reading about planes crashing since that's literally my worst fear, despite all that.. I really enjoyed it! The writing is what really sold me on it, and although I didn't like most of the characters, I really enjoy the main one. It was a fast read for me and I enjoyed the mystery vibes, but this doesn't have a big plot twist or anything like that, which is something I really missed and that I feel like it's really important on books like this one. Not the best, but definitely not the worst! I give this 3/5.

Those are all the books I read this month! As you can see, I've had a great reading month and now I'm super pumped to read more in August. My next TBR will be up next week for those of you who actually enjoy reading those - they are not my most read posts, but I really enjoy writing them! If you'd like to keep up with my reading you can follow me on GoodReads so we can be reading buddies and you can keep up with my Reading Challenge (spoiler alert: I'm not killing it!)

What are you currently reading?!

Daily Mantras For A Better Week + FREE Daily Planner.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Another week is starting and you know the drill.. I'm so happy the mantras are having such a positive response from you, guys! This week we're going to focus on managing stress and anxiety, as well as self-love and self-acceptance with the daily mantras. This has been really hard for me. I feel like I sometimes go into a vicious cycle: I get stress, I can't do anything, I feel guilty for not doing anything, which leads to more stress. I've come to the realization this week that life is stressful (I know.. shocking, right?!). We all need to deal with things we don't want to or things we believe we're not ready for, so the only way to survive is to learn how to deal with stress and keep it to a bare minimum so we can actually be functional parts of society. Avoid stress is almost impossible if you're a normal human that has to work, study or deal with anything on a regular basis.

I'm also super excited to share with you guys another daily planner. I'm having the best time designing them, it's been a great creative outlet for me since I don't get to be creative on my everyday life - you can just click right here and it'll download it to your computer. I've also being using the crap out of them. I'm trying to be more conscious about the environment, so I don't print a new one everyday. What I like to do is, I open the file on my computer and just fill it out with everything I need to accomplish that day!

ONE // When nothing is certain, everything is possible.

TWO // Change is the only constant in life and I have the ability to adapt to anything.

THREE // My thoughts and feelings fuel my actions.

FOUR // What you give power to has power over you.

FIVE // The universe is conspiring in my favor.

SIX // I forgive myself. I accept myself. I love myself.

SEVEN // In every moment peace is a choice.

That's it for today, guys! I hope you enjoy the mantras and I hope they help you out this week. I really need to focus on controlling my stress and anxiety. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed that I feel like I can't do anything that day and it's just so annoying when you feel like an entire day just went to waste and you didn't achieve anything. But, I'm working on it. If you get the chance to download the daily planner, let me know who it's working for you and if you have any suggestions for the next one! I'm having lot of fun making them!

What's your favorite one this week?!
Do you also struggle with anxiety and stress?!

GUEST POST // A Day In London // CAMDEN TOWN.

Hi, everyone!

First of all, I would like to say that I am not a blogger. I don't even think that I'm good at writing or expressing my feelings through words, but I am going to give it a try to tell you guys a little bit about my experience living abroad.
I hope you'll enjoy reading what I have to say!

Last year, I lived with my parents and my two sisters. I was an Intentional Relations graduated working for a technology company and living in Rio de Janeiro. Now, I share a house with three amazing Brazilians, work as sales assistant in one of the busiest fashion stores in Oxford Street and live in London. I decided to leave my job, my family, my closets friends and my hometown to follow a different dream. It may sound amazing in theory, but the reality is not as exciting as it sounds. It's like leaving all your certainty behind and jumping into an ocean of doubts. What about my family? Am I making the right choice? What if I don’t find a good job or one that I really enjoy doing? What if I fail at everything and have to come back home? These are all questions that cross my mind from time to time. But, I am trying to enjoy the experience and not let fear put me down! So, that's me and that's my introduction! Let's stop with the heavy and get into the good stuff, shall we?!
Whenever I have a day off, I explore the city! And to be honest, I don't think I will ever get enough of it. There are so many places to see here and so many different things to do. You can find people from every place in the world. London is a mix of cultures co-exiting in a very harmonious ways (Well, most of the time). I never feel judged for the clothes I am wearing here or if I am having a bad hair day. Nobody really cares about this stuff here. Nobody will give you the eye even if you decided to go out wearing a only bikini and high heels.
And if you want to have a taste of all this culture: Camden is the place to go. Camden is exotic even for London standards. I've been there three or four times already and there is always something new to see and do. I live near Bermondsey Station, which is in the Jubilee Line (gray line), so to go to Camden I have to take the tube and change in London Bridge for the Northern Line (black line). Public transportation is very easy to use here, specially the underground. Every station has a map showing the lines you need and the changes you need to make to get where you want.
Our first stop was The Camden Market. You'll see it just after leaving the station. If you are visiting London for the first time and you need to buy gifts for every relative you have back home this is definitely a must. There is variety of things to buy and the prices are reasonable - you can make everyone happy without breaking the bank. If you're crazy about t-shirts like me, you're going to love it here - they have the best selection I've ever seen!
The next place we went to was the Camden Lock Market. It's a great place for shopping because of the diversity of little shops. You'll be able to find everything from vintage pieces and handmade accessories to unique and modern fashion pieces. It is also a great place to eat! You can taste a little bit of every culture around the world here. Italian, Thai food, Mexican, Brazilian… just name it and you're probably be able to find it. This time I went with a burrito, which I regretted latter. Not because of the taste. I was actually really good. But we took the food to go and ate it on board of The Music Boat, I spilled the sauce all over my trousers and you can imagine the mess. Just so you know, I spent the rest of the day trying to get rid of the stain…
Ok, now let's talk about The Music Boat! It is a small boat that takes you around Regent's Canal, where you can see some of London's touristic places with a live musical performance to entertain you on the way. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend! The guys from the boat were really nice and chatty. They advertise the trip for £20 pound, the price is totally negotiable - me and my friends paid £12!
There is so much more of Camden to see, I couldn't possibly share everything in one post! As I said before, I am not a blogger, let alone a travel blogger, but I hope this inspires you to come here and discover Camden for yourself!

I hope you've enjoyed reading a little bit about my London adventures!

FREE E-BOOKS // Amazon + Kindle.

Heeello, everyone!

This is not the post I had planned for today, but since free books don't remain free for a very long period of time, I've decided to take a break from our regular scheduled programming to share them with you! If you guys didn't know, I own Kindle and one of my favorite hobbies is to browse around the Amazon store with the filter (prices: low to high) on - this allows me to find the books for free easily and I would highly recommend doing it. I usually do this when I can't sleep and yesterday was one of those days, but hey.. at least I got some books out of it, right?!

If you've browsed with this filter before, you'll see that there's actually a ton of free books on Amazon, usually self-plubish, but sometimes you can find some hidden gems. All of the ones I'm mentioning today had pretty high ratings and a lot of positive reviews, so they're not here just because I they're free. Two of the are from pretty famous author, which I've recognized because of the amount of time I spend watching Booktube. And also, you don't need a Kindle to read these, I've linked all of them down below and you can just download it to your computer from Amazon's website and read in the device of your choice.. Before buying my Kindle, I would read of my e-books on computer or my phone!

Random Acts of Crazy - Julia Kent // This is actually the first in a series. There a lot of books in this series (like 8 or 9) and, to be honest, I don't see myself reading them all. I got the first and the second because, they were free, had pretty good ratings and I liked the premise. I don't know a lot about it, but it feels like it's going to be meet-cute romance and I'm totally down for that. When you read a lot of books, sometimes it's good to "take a break" with a cheesy romance!
Get it here!

Random Acts of Trust - Julia Kent // The only reason why I got the second one was because it was free and maybe the first one will surprise me and I'll just have get right into the second. But, it's not likely. Usually, these types of books don't really hold me for too long, but I could be wrong.. You never know, it does sound like a cute romance!
Get it here!

The Pact - Karina Halle // I've seen a lot of bloggers and booktubers talking about Karina Halle, so I was super pumped about getting this book for free. I loooooved the cover, but I have no idea what the story is about. I'm guessing it's about a couple of friends that make this pact to marry each other when they're thirty. I'm getting pretty strong Friends vibes from it!
Get it here!

The Boy - Jillian Dodd // This is the first book in a trilogy and I've seen a lot of bloggers talking about it. I'm not a big fan of romance series, they usually don't hold my interest for more than one book, but this one seems promising. I'm almost certain it's about a girl who is friends with two gorgeous boys (I was never this lucky) and a love triangle starts to form. It's a cute romance and I don't have high expectations for it, but the ratings say otherwise.. a lot of people seem to have really loved the entire series!
Get it here!

Again, Alabama - Susan Sands // The review made all the difference with this one! I didn't really like the cover and I've never heard of this author before, but the review were all amazing. People seem to have really enjoyed this book and I was intrigued. It's a pretty short book and maybe I'll be able to read the whole thing in one sitting!
Get it here!

Checkmate: This Is War - Kennedy Fox // This is the one I'm most excited about. I've been watching Jessica from PeaceLoveBooks on Youtube for a while now and she always talks about Kennedy Fox, so when I saw this for FREE on Amazon I snatched it up real fast! I think it's an office romance and I've never read one before so I'm really excited about it. Don't quote me on it, but I think Kennedy Fox is actually a secret author duo and that makes it even more interesting. This book is also a part of a big series, with like 5 books and I'm almost certain I won't read them all, but it's good to know that if I love it, I'll have more books to keep going!
Get it here!

That's all I have for today, guys! I hope you guys enjoy the books and definitely keep an eye out for reviews over here because I'm really excited about all of them. I have no idea why these books are available for free since the price for the physical version is pretty high in some of the cases. But hey, I'm definitely not complaining! I also think this is a great way to get familiar with an specific author and see if you enjoy their writing before actually spending money on other books in the future. I've done other posts like these, so if you're interested in free books you can check them out here and here!

Have you read any of these books?

Let's chat!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy reading!

10 Things I've Learned About Myself Through Project Panning.

Heeello, everyone!

Ever since I've started my minimalism and decluterring journey (you can read all about it here), my makeup collection has been the hardest thing for me to downsize. I know I can't possibly use up every product I have, but I hate the thought of just throwing it out or giving it to people I'm not extremely close with (like my mom or my sister), so it's been more than a year and I still haven't figured out what to do with it.

A temporary solution I've found was protect panning, which is just focusing on a set amount of products until you've hit pan on them or used them up completely. I've been doing it for months now and it's been a process. As most you already know this, but using up a product takes forever and when you've been using the same product every single day you kinda get really tired of it and you just want to toss it across the room (Oh, no you don't? That's just me? OK).

Anyway, like I've said, I've been project panning for a while now and I would really recommend doing it if you've come to the point where you have no idea what to do with so much makeup. I've learned a lot about myself and my makeup habits by just focusing on what I already have and not adding anything new. I've discovered old favorites and I've realized that I don't use half of the things that I thought were staples in my collection, like red lipstick and eyeliner!
ONE// I don't need backups.
This is number one for a reason. I used to be one of those people that if I liked a product, I would run back to the store and buy more of it because I was scared of running out. And honestly, that's quite stupid.. If you use up a lipstick (which will probably take months or years) and it's discontinued, look for a similar one from a different brand. The market is full of dupes and I'm sure you'll be able to find something extremely similar. And if all goes wrong and you can't, it's not the end of the world. Brands are constantly coming out with different products, I'm sure you won't really miss that one specific shade that much. And also, chances are all of your backups are just growing old in your collection like mine.. When was the last time you've actually needed a backup?!

TWO // I use way less makeup than I thought I did.
I'm not one of those people that wears makeup everyday. I don't even get out of the house everyday so there's literally no point of me having the amount of makeup I do. We are tricked or we trick ourselves into buying all sorts of makeup products for different occasions that we really don't need. If I'm being honest with myself, I don't need makeup for days when I don't want to wear any because guess what?! When I don't want to wear makeup, I just don't. I don't need light weight BB Creams (don't even get me started with bb creams) and tinted lip balms with a hint of color... When I wear makeup, I kinda want it to show up.

THREE // I takes a VERY long time to use up a product.
This sounds like common sense to everyone, but I'm talking years here, maybe more. Well, if you've had a product for more than a year, it's probably time to throw it away but you get where I'm going with this. You'd think I would have figured this out sooner, like before buying all that crap, but I didn't so I'm passing this knowledge to you (that's irony if you didn't get it).

FOUR // Ingredients matter.
I used to be completely clueless to this, but a lot of brands use very shitty ingredients. And this applies to most brands, even high end ones. If I'm applying something all over my face, very close to my eyes and on my mouth, it's probably a good idea to know what's in it.

FIVE // Going cruelty-free is easier than I thought.
I thought going cruelty-free was going to be one of the hardest things ever and that I would have very small options. Boy, was I wrong! A lot of big brands I love like elf, Wet'nWild and NYX are cruelty-free and have amazing products. Caring about animal testing does limit your options, but it's extremely easy to be done! The hard thing is actually using up all the products that are not cruelty-free from your collection, you can see my struggle every month when I share my empties

SIX // I never wear liquid eyeliner.
I mean, who knew?! Actually, I should have known since I'm the one wasting all my money on makeup I don't wear. I know this is very specific to me and you might wear eyeliner everyday, but I think we can all agree that we have products we've bought because we thought we needed. And, sadly, the only way to really know is by trial and error, but I think we can all be more mindful of the things we're spending our money on. I literally have three liquid eyeliners, all high end, that I have no idea what I'm going to do with since they're too old to give it to people and too expensive to just throw out.

SEVEN // I've wasted a lot of money on makeup I don't use or don't even like.
Here's a cautionary tale for you: liquid lipsticks, bright eyeshadows and colorful eyeliners.. All things I've bought multiples of, all things I don't really like or use. I mean, I like them in theory and in other people, but I don't use them nearly enough to justify having them in my collection. I think I've worn colorful eyeliner once this year.

EIGHT // If I don't enjoy using it, I don't need it.
We all have that one product we really hate using and that we can't throw away because it was expansive or because we love the packaging or anything like that. What I've realized is that, for me, makeup should be fun and something I enjoy doing. It's not just the products or the end result, it's the process so if I dread using a product, it really negates the whole purpose. Life is already too stressful to deal with makeup products you don't like. And the best way to find out if you really hate a product, it's by putting it in a project pan.

NINE // I hate BB Creams.
I've come to the conclusion that BB Creams don't do anything for me, they're just a way for brands to sell overpriced tinted moisturizers in cute packaging. In my case, I already apply sunscreen every single day, I have no problem with it.. It's like engraved in my brain: wash face, apply sunscreen. So, whenever I want light coverage I can just mix in my regular foundation with my sunscreen or apply a powder foundation on top. There's literally no need for BB Creams cause let's face it, they don't really do all the things they claim like fighting wrinkles and all that jazz.

TEN // If you don't like it at the store, you definitely won't like it at home.
This was a hard lesson for me to learn. I'm a justifier, if I really want a product I can come up with a million reasons to buy it and trick myself into it.. I should be sales person, really. For example, if I really want a palette but I know I'll only wear five of the shades, I can justify buying it by convincing myself I can find ways to wear the rest of the shades at home. But, if I'm being honest here, the store is the place where things most appeal to you. The packaging, the placing of the product and the display it's in.. Everything is thought out to make you buy the product. So, if even then you can't think of ways to use the product, you won't find them at home when you're getting ready late for work or meeting your friends. I know it's true, you know it's true, so we need to stop tricking ourselves.

That's all for today, friends! I hope you've enjoyed the post and got inspired to start a project pan or maybe just focus on the things you already have. Let me know on the comments your thoughts on project panning and downsizing your makeup. Any tips are also much appreciated.

Have you ever done a Project Pan?
What's the one item you've bought multiples of, but don't really use?!

Weekly Mantras // Productivity + Positivity.

HAPPY MONDAY, everyone!

I hope you're all as excited for this week as I am. If you're following me on Twitter, you probably already know that I've been toying with the idea of making my own daily planner for a while now, I even did a poll over there to see if you guys would actually be interested in it and the majority said YAAAS! I'm a total organizing/planning freak and I love daily planner and to-do lists, so I thought I'd try making my own and sharing it here on the blog! You can download my first Daily Planner for free, just click on this link right here [download] and it'll download it to your computer.

The planner has a lot of space to write down your daily tasks, the mantra you'll be focusing on that day, any notes you might want to take and, my favorite part, special separate areas to write down your goals and the highlights of your day. I think that's super important when you're trying to stay organized because you can easily loose track of your end goal when you're busy getting your daily tasks done and also, it's important to write down the best parts of your day so you can take time at the end to just be grateful for your life and everything you've achieved.

The daily planner is in a .pdf format, so you can print it or just fill in the spaces on your computer if you don't want to waste paper. If you get the chance to download it, let me know on comments or in any of my social media platforms what you think about it - if you loved it, hated it or if there's anything you'd like me to change for the next one. And yes, there will be more. The goal is to share a new one every week, along with the daily mantras, so we can all stay on track of stuff and continue on having a good productive year.

Anyway, about the mantras.. the theme this week is productivity and positivity. It's about staying on track, focusing on your end goal and reminding yourself that you're good enough, smart enough and strong enough to achieve anything you want to achieve this week and in life in general. They're also about focusing on the good side, in the "what if things actually work out" side, which is something we all easily forget when life gets hard. Let's get to it!

MONDAY // If not now, when? If not me, who?

TUESDAY // Every tiny step in the right direction is important.

WEDNESDAY // Nobody is more capable than you to achieve the life you want.

THURSDAY // I'm in charge of what I do and how I feel at the end of each day.

FRIDAY // I have all the power and strength I need to change my situation.

SATURDAY // It takes time, but things eventually fall into place if you keep at it.

SUNDAY // Relaxing and recharging are not time wasted.

That's it for today, everyone! I hope these mantras help you this week and I really hope you enjoy the daily planner. Just like everything I do for the blog (and life in general), I did it with a lot of love and I'm really happy with the result. If you'd like, I can do a whole post about how I've been using mine and why it's been so helpful, as well as my organizing and planning system... Kinda like, how I stay on top of things post, just let me know if you'd be interested.

What's your favorite mantra this week?
Did you like the daily planner?

Let's chat!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Ps: if you guys didn't know, I used to use Photobucket to store pictures for the blog and they've decided to end third party hosting without letting anyone know in advance. I've been trying to replace everything this morning, but it takes a lot of time. So, if you see a weird message about "third party hosting" somewhere on the blog fear not, I'm on it. It just takes time to switch everything to another website.

Monthly Empties // June, 2017.

What's up, everyone?!

I know I'm super late with this empties and, to be honest, I have no good excuse. I've been busy with life in general and whenever I plan on blogging on the weekends, I never get around to it. I'm either super burned out from the week and all I want to do is watch TV or I have social events I kinda have to attend (last weekend it was a graduation party, which was actually really fun). So, this morning I had a few extra minutes before leaving for class (which is something that never happens) and I took it as a divine sign that I should take this time to catch up on my blog posts.

I've been collecting this beauty trash for a little over a month and I thought I had more products in my bag, but I just had this ones. I did finish up some makeup products, which is always a plus, and there's a bunch of staples here like haircare and skincare. I've been really good with my money and I haven't bought anything beauty related in June and in July so far, let's hope I can keep this up for another month. I've been trying to up my savings game this year so I can travel more. I already have a couple of trips planned and I'll talk all about it in a different post, but yeah.. I'm excited!

Oh, and if you guys didn't know, I'm currently transitioning to only cruelty-free products, so I'll let you guys know which ones are and which ones aren't. I still have a lot of products from brands that test on animals, but I'm slowly trying to use them all up and never repurchase, unless the brand status changes! Anyway, I'm gonna stop rambling! Let's get to the products!
Granado Glycerin Soaps // These are always on my empties, I love them. You can check my previous empties for a more in depth review, but they're great. I highly recommend getting more natural bar soaps instead of body wash, it's better for your body and for the environment.
Granado is cruelty-free.

Healthy Sexy Hair Conditioner in Soy Moisturizer // I got this over a year ago at Ross and I'll never get hair products this size ever again. Although I LOVED this conditioner, it took me and my roommate using it on a regular basis more than a year to completely use it up. It's great, though! The scent is awesome, it's thick and moisturizing and it leaves your feeling glossy and healthy. I would totally repurchase it, but never this amount of product.
Sexy Hair is cruelty-free.

Naturelle Biotera Moisturizing Shampoo with Rosemary Extract // I got this at the same time I got the Sexy Hair conditioner and it's a miracle they ender at the same time.
I looked and I'm not sure if the brand cruelty-free or not, but I think they are.
Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Toner for Sensitive Skin // This was ok, not good but not bad.    I used it mainly to take off my face makeup and it did the job, I just wasn't a big fan of the scent. I wouldn't repurchase it because it was too strong for my skin (even the sensitive version) and because this had a lot of chemicals, a lot of ingredients I couldn't pronounce in the back and that's never a good sign. I'm currently using a more natural alternative and I really like it (I'll definitely include that one in my favorites post coming soon).
Clean & Clear is NOT cruelty-free.

Granado Deodorant // I bought this before I started making my own deodorant (recipe coming soon) and it wasn't very good. It did not contain my sweat, which is definitely not ok since it claims to be antiperspirant. I got the one without the scent and I kinda regret it also. I wouldn't repurchase it!
Granado is cruelty-free.

Depil Bella Oil Waxing Remover // My mom actually got this one for me. I needed an oil to remove the wax from my mustache (yes, I wax my own mustache #frugal) and it did the job. It was also dirt cheap, but it did have a lot of chemicals in it. I'm currently using regular coconut oil for that and it works wonder, you can even use olive oil if you're on a pinch, you definitely don't need a special waxing remover. Needless to say, I wouldn't repurchase it.

Bath & Body Works Ultra Shea Body Cream in Endless Weekend // I liked the product, the scent and the packaging is cute, but I think I'm over BBW. Their cruelty-free status is super shady and their ingredients are not the best. I've been going towards more natural alternatives and their products don't appeal to me as much as they used to. I really like the huge amount of scents they have and I'll miss having some of them, but I'm sure I can find better/healthier alternatives.
Lola! Hair Oil in Patuá & Moringa // I love Lola! as brand in general and all of the products I've tried did not disappoint. I loved the scent on this and I saw some difference in my hair. It felt healthier and it had more shine after using it. I already repurchased!
Lola! is cruelty-free.

Simple Moisturizing Face Wash // This was a totally unnecessary product. I'm not a big fan of face wash, I feel like you're just applying extra chemicals to your skin and wasting money since everything a face wash does can be done by normal soap. I think I got this as a gift with purchase and it lasted almost an entire year in my shower. It was ok, I liked the scent.. But I felt like it stripped my skin. I would never buy it in the first place, but if I got it for free again I would use it.
Simple is NOT cruelty-free.

L'Oreal Casting Cream Gloss // If you follow me on Instagram (@letmecrossover) you probably know that I've tried to dye my hair a copper shade, but things didn't work out so well. This is the little moisturizing/finishing cream the hair dye comes with to apply after the process. It's good, but it doesn't do any miracles.
L'Oreal has a very shady cruelty-free status and I'm not buying it.

Essence Match2Cover Cream Concealer // If you still remember, this was in my products I want to use up in 2017 (check it out here) and I've finally finished it! This used to be my favorite concealer, but I've found better alternatives since then. It's good, not great. It gives decent coverage and, since it comes with two different shades, you can mix them to get your perfect shade, but it creases like crazy even after setting it with powder. I love Essence as a brand, but this is not my favorite product.
Essence is cruelty-free.

e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set // I loved this spray. I use a lot of powder makeup, so a setting spray is a must for me. This one was super cheap and it worked wonders. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't come in a bigger bottle. I would totally repurchase it!
e.l.f. is cruelty-free.

Those are all the products I finished up last month! I thought I had more, but 14 products in a month is still good, right? Hopefully, as time goes by, I'll have less and less products to share over here. The end goal is to go through everything I don't need, everything that is extra and just keep the products I absolutely love and that are cruelty-free. It's been a process guys, but I've started seeing some progress on my cabinets and they're getting more and more empty.

Have you tried any of these products?
How many products did you finish last month?
Do you enjoy empties?

Let's chat!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
