Monthly Makeup Basket // September, 2017.

Heeeeello, everyone!

As you guys already know by now, this year I've been really focusing on using up products and decluterring - I've become a delcuterring machine! When it comes to makeup, I have really hard time letting go, so I'm focusing on actually going through everything and using it up. I feel like the best way to stay on track and actually remember to use the products I want to use up is to do monthly makeup baskets. This helps me to not only focus on the things I want to use up, but also to switch up the products so I don't get bored and discouraged. The reason why I do them monthly is because I don't wear makeup everyday, so doing them weekly wouldn't make any sense and I wouldn't see any progress on the products before switching them up. Anyway, I'm gonna keep this intro short and sweet because we have a lot of products to talk about.. Let's get to the good stuff!
Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray // This doesn't look as pink as it used to because I mixed it with another facial spray. I use this as a face primer and a setting spray, and it works wonders in both ways. I'm not a big fan of face primers because I don't feel like they do much for me so I use this mostly for extra moisture before applying my face products - it just makes everything look better and more natural. I love it and cannot recommend it enough.

Avon Ideal Shade Face Powder in Medium Beige // This is the powder that will not die. I've had this is in every Project Pan I've ever done in my life and it's still hanging on - maybe I'll pass this on to my daughter as a family heirloom. The product itself is actually pretty good, it blurs all your blemish and imperfections and it has a pretty natural finish. I like it, but I'm far from loving it - I like it enough to use up and never see it again. Maybe September will be the month we parts ways..

Maybelline FIT me Concealer in Sand Sable // I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I love everything about it (the price specially), it's my favorite concealer.. but, Maybelline is not cruetly-free and I won't be able to repurchase it. The formula is great, it gives just the right amount of coverage and the shade selection is pretty good too. It's almost done and I'm excited to use the NYX HD Concealers I got on my latest haul

Revlon Photo Ready Translucent Powder // I don't really like this powder, but it wasn't cheap so I'm going to use it up. It says it's translucent but it leaves a pretty noticeable white finish on the skin. So, the only way I manage to work it in my makeup routine is by applying it under the eyes to set my concealer - it really brightens up that area and it prevents creasing.
MAC Cream Colour Base in Vintage Rose // Another product I've had for ages. I bought this because the lady working on the MAC counter convinced me I needed it.. Now, it's three years later and I rarely use it. I've just recently pulled this out of my collection and decided to use it as a cream blush - I actually have no idea what this was meant to be used as, but it's working as a blush. It's easy to apply and it looks very natural on the cheeks, like you're literally blushing.

e.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzer Duo in Blushed and Bronzed // As you can see, I've finished the blush but the bronzer is still hanging on. I like this product, it's a good bronzer. However, I don't usually go for bronzers because I feel like I don't really need them.
Kiko Eyeshadow Palette in Addictive Song // This is the palette I'm trying to pan this year (you can see the Pan That Palette updates here). I clearly won't be able to finish it until December, but I have some good progress going on.

Revlon Lash Potion Mascara in Blackened Brown // I got this one because of Emily Noel (before going cruelty-free) and this is the first time she has failed me. I really don't like this one, it's too wet and I don't feel like it does anything for my lashes - it just makes them darker. And to top it all off, I got it in the wrong shade. It's ok for everyday use because I usually go for a very natural "no makeup" look.

Avon ColorTrend Clear Mascara // This used to be a clear mascara. I added some e.l.f. brow powder to it and now it's a tinted brow gel - I should have my own makeup line, guys! Jokes aside, this actually works. It makes my brows look fuller and more defined.
Chapstick Cherry Classic // Don't ask me why, but I bought a pack of three chapsticks once on a trip and although they were fairly cheap, I'm still paying the price. This thing lasts for a lifetime. I don't think I need to review it, it's chapstick.. we all know what it's like. I just need to get this out of my collection, so I apply it everyday regardless if I'm wearing makeup that day or not.

Kiko Pencil Lipgloss in 12 // I love this product and if I had a Kiko store near me I would have it in every shade. This is the perfect lip product for me because it lasts for a long time on the lips, it doesn't smudge easily, it's comfortable and it glossy without being sticky. It's super tiny now and although I'd love to finish it sooner rather than later, I'll miss it when it's gone.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum // You guys remember when this was THE lip product to have a couple of years ago?! Everyone was talking about it on the internet and I got sucked into the hype vortex and bought 8 of them.. yes, I got 8 lip products I don't love because of youtube - I wasn't really smart back then. Well, now I have them and I need to start getting some use out of them. I chose this one because it pairs really well with the Kiko lip pencil and that way I think I can use it up faster. It's not like I hate this, they're just not my favorite lip product - I usually go for something more long lasting.

Bath and Body Works Fragrance Mist in Endless Summer // I thought I would also include the fragrance I'm currently working on. I have so many of these that I need to make a conscious effort in order to use them up before they actually go bad - major first world problem, I know.  I really like this scent and I know some of you might be going into fall right now, but summer is just around the corner here in Brazil so it's the perfect time for me to pull this out.

That's all the makeup I'll be focusing on for the month of September! I'm hoping I get to finish up a couple of products because as you can see from the pictures some of them are very old and are probably expired. I'm not suggesting you should use expired makeup, but when it comes to makeup I see expiration dates as more of a suggestion than a deadline. I take good care of my makeup, though. I sanitize everything pretty often, I'm always cleaning my brushes and I always, always, always wash my hands before applying makeup to my face. Anyway, if you have any questions about the products let me know on the comments and I'll be glad to answer them. And also, if you've done something similar on your blog or youtube channel, make sure to leave me the links so I can check it out - I love these types of posts!

Do you prefer monthly or weekly makeup baskets?

Let's hang some more!

Thanks so much for reading and come back soon!
