Monthly TBR // September, 2017.

Heeello, everyone!

Today we're going to be talking about books, one of my favorite things to talk about. I haven't been very consistent with my TBR these past few days and I've realized that because of that I haven't been reading as much as I used to. I love TBRs, I think they keep me focused and make me read faster, because I get excited about the other books I have to get to next.

This month I decided to do something a little different, though. I limited myself to only 4 books. This might seem like too little or even too much for something people, but I'm usually able to read 5 books in a good month and, if I'm really in the mood, I manage to squeeze in a short story or an audiobook as well. I wanted to do this because I don't want to feel anxious about not finishing the books I said I would. I don't need anything else adding to my anxiety.

The books I'm talking about today are the ones I REALLY want to get to, some of them have been on way too many TBRs and enough is enough. If I'm able to finished all of them I can always add to it. I feel like this way I'm more relaxed and maybe you'll get some surprises on my Reading Wrap-Up. Anyway, I've rambled enough.. Let's get to the books!

The Foxhole Court - Nora Sakavic // I used to watch a booktuber that would talk about this book nonstop, so I finally cave in and bought it to read this month. One of my Bookish Resolutions this year is to read more diverse books and pretty sure this is diverse, I'm just not sure how. The reviews on GoodReads and Amazon were really positive, people seem to have really enjoyed this one. I have very high hopes for it.

The Good Daughter - Karin Slaughter // If you've seen my latest Reading Wrap-Up, you know that I'm on a thriller/mystery mood lately. This is so weird because you guys know I'm such a scaredy-cat when it comes to these books. I just really love the plot twists and mysteries/thrillers usually have the best plot twists ever. A bunch of people on my GoodReads feed have been reading this book and giving it really high ratings, so I decided to pick it up this month.

The Female of the Species - Mindy McGinnis // If you're a long time reader, you probably recognize this book. It has been on many TBRs before, but I committed to reading it this month. I'll actually start reading it as soon as I get this post up. To be honest, I'm not really sure what this is about. I think there's something to do with murder, maybe a mystery.. I'm getting some feminism vibes from the cover and the title.. I don't know. I bought it because I saw a lot of booktubers talking about it, maybe I should have payed more attention to what they were actually saying before I buying it. Anyway, now I have it and I'm really looking forward to reading it!

The Hate U Give - Angie Thomas // Another one that has been on many TBRs before, I have no idea why I haven't read it yet. Everyone has been talking about it and it has been on the NYTimes Bestsellers list for a while now. I guess I'm kinda scared because a lot of people said that this made them emotional and I'm a crier when it comes to books, specially when it comes to young characters dying or something like that. This is why I still haven't finished History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera, it's just too sad!

Those are some of the books I'm planning on reading this month. Like I said, it's not all of them - hopefully. I just wanted to leave some wiggle room this month because I'll probably be traveling and with this blogging everyday challenge.. I don't want to feel overwhelmed, you know?! I still want to complete my Reading Challenge and we take reading very seriously around here, but I don't want it to add to my anxiety and cause stress.

Which books are you planning on reading this month?!

Let's chat!

Thanks so much for reading and come back soon!
