HOW TO: Grow Your Online Presence.

Heeello, everyone!

I'm coming at you today with more blog advice. Let me just start this by saying that, no, I'm not the most qualified blogger to be giving advice. However, I've been doing this for a while and I've definitely made a lot of mistakes when it comes to social media and growing my online presence. Today, I wanted to share some of the things I've learned from them in order to help some of you out there. Blogging is definitely not about the numbers, but reaching people and connecting with them is one of the most rewarding things about blogging and for that to happen, you need to grow your online presence.

I've also done a similar post about SEO and how to attract more traffic to your blog, but this one is going to be a little more specific. In that one I talked about how important expanding your online presence is to attract more traffic to your blog, so today I wanted to talk more about specific things you can do to expand your online presence. Like I've said before, these tips are just tips. They're not miracles, they won't get you 1000 followers in 2 hours, but they will help. I've been blogging and following other bloggers for 4 years now and I'd like to believe that I've picked up a thing or two, so let's get to them!
ONE // You need to be everywhere.
I know I've talked about this on the other post, but this is super important. You need to be everywhere online: Twitter, IG, Pinterest, GoodReads, Bloglovin, Snapchat, Youtube, Facebook and any other social media platform there ever was. The more your blog and your name appears on the internet the better. It helps search engines to find you. When people google your name or something similar to your blog name, they want to find you fast. I cannot tell you how many times I forgot the name of a blog I love and then I googled it, but couldn't find it. And also, nowadays, this is a fairly easy step. Most of us are already used to having social media accounts, so this shouldn't be a problem.

You not only have to be everywhere, but you need to be active everywhere. This is the hardest thing for me because I'm not a sharer. I like to keep most parts of my life private and you can see how that can be a challenge for a blogger. Being active, in my opinion, is hard. It takes time  and effort because you can't just post anything.. I mean, you could but that's not cool). You want to post good content and stuff that fits with your blog or your lifestyle. However, this is really important - I think social media truly is a blogger's best friend cause how people find your blog and keep up with your posts.

TWO // Human interaction.
This shouldn't be a hard thing to do. If you started a blog, chances are you're excited about talking to your readers or other bloggers that share the same interests as you, right?! However, by human interaction I mean commenting on people's pictures, replying to comments and emails, twitting other bloggers.. things like that. It is fun, but it does take work and it's very time consuming. When blogger and youtubers say they sometimes need an entire morning or afternoon to catch up with emails and comments, they're not kidding. I run a small blog and, sometimes, the email pile up. Putting out good content is not enough, you need to let people know where that good content is and make it accessible for them to find it. You also need to engage your readers and answer their questions - as soon as possible.

THREE // Be active.
Post, post, post! I know what I say is going to sound bad, but in order to be remembered, you need to post as often as you can. There are a lot of bloggers out there and they're all awesome and that's an amazing thing. I really love the fact that blogging has become more popular and I think it's an overall positive thing for everyone - readers and fellow bloggers. Unfortunately, that means that if you don't post frequently, people can forget about you. I'm not saying you need to blog everyday (although that helps a lot), you just can't put up 5 posts a month and expect people to keep coming back.

We leave in a very "fast'' society and people are used to getting things at the click of button, so if they don't see you, chances are, they won't remember you. And that's not a reflection of you, your personality or your blog, I'm 100% sure you're not forgettable as a human being. I also still believe that quality is better than quantity, but you need to be consistent to grow your online presence. Again, the more your blog appears on the internet, the better and with every upload you're doing just that. Every successful blogger out there that I follow is pretty consistent with their uploads.

FOUR // Listen to your readers and followers.
I'm gonna make this very clear: you don't need to do what everybody else is doing - not in your daily life, not with your blog. However, paying attention to the content your readers and followers are sharing on social media helps. I'm not saying that you should change everything and just do what's popular because that takes out the fun in blogging, but I think we can all adjust our content accordingly - if we want to. Just keep an eye out, you know? If the content that's popular at the moment interests you, then maybe you can try it out. If not, skip it. You don't need to follow every trend and a big part of standing out as a blogger is being original and true to yourself. So, just keep doing you.

FIVE // Be you.
Like I've said before, there are a lot of bloggers out there and they're all amazing. However, they are not you and they don't have your personality. I've noticed that big bloggers reach "celebrity status" because people relate to them and like their personalities, so it becomes fun to follow them around in vlogs and keep up with their lives. And the only way people can relate to you is if you're 100% you.

That's all I have for today, guys! Let me know on the comments if you agree with my tips or not - I love hearing from you, specially when it comes to topics like this. Growing your online presence and attracting more traffic to your blog is hard, but it's necessary if you want your blog to grow. I truly believe in all the tips I shared today, specially the last one. Being true to yourself and making sure you are showing your personality in every post is very important. The blogger is more important to me than the blog itself, in my opinion. You can have the best blog design and exclusive content, but if I don't relate to you somehow or I think you're not being genuine, I probably won't go back to your blog. Anyway, I really hope these tips help you out.

Do you have any advice to share with us?!
