The Minimalism Game // DAY 7.

Good Morning, everybody!

As you can see from the picture, today I tackled my jewelry boxes. I went through everything I own and I downsized it quite a bit, it's just that today I only had to get rid of seven items so I saved some for the next days - expect more earrings in the next updates. The lesson I learned today was quality over quantity. I've realized that most of my jewelry comes from Forever21 and H&M and even though I love these stores, they're known for their high quality items. I really want to focus on getting items that will last from now on and that I can use for more than a year (at least when it comes to jewelry).

In terms of difficulty, finding items to get rid of today was fairly easy today. I actually found way more than 7, but I'm "saving" them in order to share in the next updates. I'm not decluttering everyday because, you know, I have a life. I actually take one day of the week (usually on the weekends) and declutter and organize as much as I can. I arrange the items according to the updates and take pictures for the blog. Once I have my pictures, I put it on the donation bin. I'm really happy I decided to share this process on the blog because this way I have records of everything I'm getting rid of for future references. Anyway, here are my seven items!
The compass earrings are from H&M. I went through a phase of wearing little things like these and I wore this pair to death - they're old and getting kinda dark, so it's time to let them go. The other two pairs are from Forever21, which is my favorite place to get cheap jewelry. I'm donating this because I outgrew them. My style has changed and these don't appeal to me anymore. And the little necklace is broken. I kept it because I thought I could had it fixed, but it's been over a year and I haven't done it, so I'm ok with letting it go.

Going through my jewelry got me thinking about the type of jewelry I'm buying. I'm not rich and I don't really need diamonds and gold, but I could be buying better quality stuff. What I currently have I bought when I was still a teenager (or in my early twenties) and it's time to step up my game. I'm definitely gonna focus on more long term items from now on, even though I still love Forever21.

That's all for today! I hope you're enjoying the updates and let me know if you decided to join. If you feel like doing the 30 days will be too much for you, you can just do 15 or as many days as you'd like. It's not as easy and it sounds. I've done a lot of decluttering ever since I found out about minimalism, but having a set number of items I need to get rid of is something I've never done before. It certainly pushes you to think outside the box and really think about what you're keeping. It's been a good experience so far!

Do you have any tips on how to keep your space clean?

Let's chat!

Thanks so much for reading and come back soon!
